Hi, numbers club. Brooke here, checking in, safe and sound.
[checking in from her apartment, in fact. astute viewers may notice that her cast is off! but she still isn't moving her arm. she's wearing the least ugly sweater she had in her closet, which is Christmas-themed and not at all seasonal, unless you work retail. the sweater is Christmas-themed, not her closet.]
Rachel, Tavia, Surya, Pia... basically if I know your name, could you check in with me if you're safe? I just kind of want to know. I don't think any of you had business in the Dead District, but, you know, I worry sometimes. If anyone has anyone they want me to look out for, I'm spending more time in the morgue itself lately, so I can... keep my eyes open, if you want me to.
[bit of a tonal shift, there. she's quiet for a moment, looking at the camera like she's forgotten something.]
Oh, and I guess if anyone's keeping track of my awesome echo parade, I guess the person I used to be could move the earth. All I know is I woke up after I got back from work last night and I suddenly knew how to take control of, like, stone pillars and stuff. I can't actually do it, I just... feel like I should be able to, if that makes any sense.
Talk about your delayed trigger pulls, though. Last time I felt an echo coming on, I was checking out the Towers with Rachel Roth at the beginning of the month. And by the way, I checked out the Towers with Rachel Roth. [she could look smugger, but it would be difficult.] Feel free to be jealous, book fans.
