Guys, you will not believe this.

[Oh, it's another of the usual views of Thomas' apartment, but it looks like he's taken and interest in music since there are what look to be lyric sheets on his desk, and he's speaking into a cheap USB mic. Those with very good sight will notice what looks like a doll at the edge of the video.]

OK, so we've all seen those lights ... again and we all know about the towers and thats giving us echos or pulses or whatever.

That's important and all, but I think I have gotten the single best pulse on this entire network. Check this out.

[Thomas takes a deep breath and this song, complete with the music and sound effects, starts playing. It's clear he's singing, in Japanese even, but the music is coming from nowhere.]

Pretty cool huh?

[She sends him a short video clip of her winking and blowing him a kiss.]

Pia is standing by the street, leaning against a street lamp on the road closes to the Tuning Towers. Even here she can still hear the buzzing and rumbling. Maybe meeting up with this random guy was a bad idea. Still, he was one of them, and could sympathize with her current...condition. And hey, maybe it could even be fun.

It wasn't long before this abomination pulls up to Pia's street lamp. The window rolls down to show Thomas trying his hardest to give a look that doesn't scream "I'm so sorry about my car." It wasn't exactly succeeding.

"Need a lift?"

[She can't even contain her laughter.]

Oh my god. You weren't kidding. It's even uglier than I imagined!! [She has her hands over her mouth trying not to laugh like a hyena as she walks towards the car, then leans down into the window.] I'm sorry, I know you're sensitive about it.

[Thomas sighs and just rolls his eyes.]

Eh, it's fine. I'm going to get it painted soon enough. Now then

[He pats the passenger seat.]

Where you wanna go?

[she gracefully slides into the passenger seat, tugging at the hem of her skirt to ensure she's still lady-like, and crosses her legs.]

Oh, I don't know. Anywhere that's not related to out impending doom. If we go to Dairy Queen I'll buy you an ice cream.

To Dairy Queen it is!

[Thomas rolls up the windows and drives toward the nearest Diary Queen he could think of. Within a minute of driving some really generic music fills the car.]

Ok, this power could get annoying.

[femmefashionaire]

Hehe, you know, in person I don't mind it so much. It's sort of like a radio tuned into the worst channel, which you can't change, and only plays instrumental background music. [She gives him an amused look, hair flying around her face from the breeze through the open window.]

So...who were you before all this stuff started to go down?

Eh, maybe I can change it if I focus on another song?

[Thomas goes quiet for a moment before the music turns to an instrumental Queen song.]

Ah there we go! Before all this? Well, I'm still a student. I'm a grad student at Locke University. I moved into Locke right when this all started, before then I lived in Wisconsin with my brother and mother.

... I haven't talked to them since I arrived. I don't want them getting involved.

[she gives him a sympathetic look.]
I left my family behind, too, although for completely different reasons. I know how hard it can be.

Yeah, it isn't exactly something I wanted to do. Still, better they're away than getting caught up in all this.

Now then! A bit less gloom and a bit more icecream.

[They had arrived and Thomas pulled the car into the Dairy Queen parking lot.]

Oh, don't you know gloom and ice cream go perfectly together? [she laughs, getting out of the car.] I, myself, from Detroit, Michigan.

I suppose you're right.

[Thomas just shrugs and locks the car after getting out.]

Detroit eh? Well, since we're talking about ourselves, I suppose I should actually tell you my name. I'm Thomas. Pleasure to meet you.

[femmefashionaire]

[she facepalms with a groan.] oh my god. I can't believe I never asked your name. I'm sorry. [She offers her hand for a handshake.] I'm Pia Yeboah-Markos. Pleasure to meet you.

It's fine. Like I said, Thomas. Thomas Akagi. [He shakes her hand and gives a smile in return.]

Glad to finally be able to put a name to the tattoos Pia.

[femmefashionaire]

Uh huh, I prefer Pia to 'hot chick with the rad tattoos'. [she laughs, then turns and heads towards the restaurant] which I am almost certain you've been calling me in your head up until now~

Hey! I'll have you know it was 'really hot chick with the awesome tattoos.'

[Thomas makes a small scoffing noise as he catches up to her.]

Don't undersell yourself.

[She rolls her eyes with a smile, hands on her hips.]

[Thomas looked surprised for a moment before picking up the pace a abit.]

Is that an invitation?

[She gives him a look which could be interpreted many different ways, but doesn't say anything, just sashaying away into the store.]

[Thomas followers her in, his pacing slowing a bit as he wondered what that could have possibly meant.]

Well, Locke City just got a lot more interesting.

[She holds the door open for him, a little smile on her face.]
Aren't you going to ask me about my past life?

[Thomas walks through the door before her question hits him.]

Oh sorry, with allt he flirting I got distracted. Well, where are you from for starters?

Flirting? Haha, hon, if you thought that was flirting, you haven't seen anything yet. [She winks, again, brushing past him playfully to stand in line.] I'm from Detroit. I left a little over a year ago, and stayed in Chicago, then New York. Now I'm here. I will tell you, Locke, even with the current events, is five-hundred times more boring than New York at night.

Well, I am always eager to learn. [He stands behind her in line, wondering if he could survive Pia flirting.]

I bet it is. Still, Locke is a pretty nice place. I have some stories I could tell that would make it seem a bit more exciting. So, why all the moving?
