[Mort has not had a very pleasant time of things with the water being like it is. He's a psychiatrist. He is not supposed to be showing outward signs of being obviously off his rocker. Uncontrollable laughter does not help.
But what's almost worse for him beyond the laughter and the traumatic memory flashbacks is that the water seems to be drawing previous items he's regained back to him like a magnet. This goes for the creepy doll he got back for his very first item and promptly locked in a desk drawer. It's been appearing anywhere and everywhere he's come into contact with the water, much to his creeped out dismay. What's worse, now it seems to be coming with accessories, a bed and a set of devil hoodie pajamas. He's locked everything away in a drawer...so he thinks. He's making this transmission after accidentally drinking some infected tea, and the doll, dressed in the little suit he first found it in, is sitting on a shelf behind him. He has no idea it's there, and he looks a little worn out as he opens the video feed using the little grasshopper robot that appeared in his bag after the mine incident.]
I hope that whoever or whatever is infecting the water decides to stop very soon. I wasn't thinking earlier and got myself some tea...it's only just worn off.
Ah, well, to get to the point, I've had enough episodes with the water here at the office to the point I had to tell my assistant I've been experimenting with laughter-based therapy. If you're out and about in the area when you've been exposed, I can offer you a place to ride it out without it being too suspicious.
The same goes if your family or friends think there's something wrong with you after one of these incidents--if they want you to seek professional help, I'm a professional and I'm aware of the situation. I can help you with their concerns.
[He leans forward a little and looks into the grasshopper robot's camera.]
And I do have a question...has anyone had issues with the water making items appear in addition to the fits of laughter? I've been locking something in my desk drawer, and it keeps appearing wherever I am when I've been exposed to the water. It's starting to feel as though it's following me. Silly, I know, but when one locks something away, one doesn't expect to turn around and see it sitting there.
[Mort doesn't seem to realize that's the case now, and ignorance is bliss, right? At least it's not surprising him in the shower again.]

[Private Audio]
What I've been saying. I want to help you.
[Private Audio]
[[There's some exhaustion creeping into his voice. Between the residual echoed flashbacks and stress over this...
He's really not sure how much more he can take, to be honest.]]
[Private Audio]
Besides, with everything that's going on, going to the wrong doctor could be dangerous. I don't want to see you get hurt.
[Private Audio]
[Private Audio]
[He's got more video, Bakura. Don't make him use it.]
Because I'm afraid you're hitting that point more quickly than you'd care to think.
[Private Audio]
[[but there's growing exhaustion in his voice that he just can't hide any more.]]
[Private Video]
[And he'll accompany this with another clip, this time from an even odder angle--seriously, that robot needs to sit still--of their exchange right before Bakura stormed out of his office. Totally different behavior there, what with the sudden aggression.]
This was on the same day. Two interactions within minutes of each other. That's not healthy.
[Private Video]
Was the third there too? Or was that one close enough to the second that it wouldn't matter?
There's no reply. Just the shaking and shuddering breath. He can't deal. He just can't...]]
[Private Video]
...are you still there?
[Private Audio]
Why would you record something like that....
[Private Audio]
[Private Audio]
[[There's an odd... almost rawness to his voice. The exhaustion and shakiness is evident in his voice and he's not even bothering to try and hide them]]
[Private Audio/Video]
Whatever you choose to believe, it's the truth. It's not the first time I've accidentally wound up with unwanted video from this thing.
[Mort hates what he's hearing in Bakura's voice, but he's running out of options as far as getting Bakura help goes...]
[Private Audio]
This is what you wanted all along, wasn't it? An excuse to put me away. A reason to shove me in a box somewhere never to be seen again...
[Private Audio]
[He's speaking quietly now.]
But I do want to make sure no one gets hurt.
[Private Audio]
[[He knows that's not what Mort means. He just... he can't.]]
You're the only one I hate, you know... the only one.
[Private Audio]
[He's also pretty sure Bakura knows what he's talking about, but still.]
The only one you know you hate now. But what about the other you? Who knows who he hates?
[Private Audio] Congrats, Mort. You broke him.
....he hates a long dead pharaoh from 3,000 years ago...
[[a small laugh that's a mix of bitter and broken]] Hated so much that his hate twisted Diabound into a horrible monster, corrupting him from a god to a demon... But who can blame him, his entire village was slaughtered as sacrifices by the will of the pharaoh.... He got to watch that, you know... I have that memory. It was one of the first ones I'd gotten, you know? Before I even knew what was going on. Back when Paul was murdered. One murder to remember the murder of so many others...
[[again, the broken and bitter laugh]]
Or do you mean the other one? The victim trapped with another voice against the pharaoh in his head who fought tooth and nail against the demon possessing him only to wind up battered bloody and broken, willingly giving up his freedom when the demon he'd thought he'd defeated came back and offered him a deal he couldn't turn down without leaving himself and his friends trapped forever underground... He was another one who got to see all those he cared about die around him. His mother and his sister bleeding to death in front of him as he lay trapped in a ruined car, can't imagine what that must of felt like, oh wait I can!
[[his voice is shaking and the pitch is getting higher and more unstable as he laughs again]]
Or do you mean the demon himself that offered him that deal, that granted wishes with horrible consequences, the one who can kill with just a game, who was trapped for thousands of years in the same cursed item that the souls of Kul Elna were sacrificed to form.
Which one, huh? Which one of the other of me do you want to know about?
[Private Audio] Oops.
And after that whole thing, he's still quiet, because this is a lot to take in.]
Whichever one you'd care to talk about.
[Private Audio]
Talking never helps anything... it never has! Even before all this other bullshit got mixed in...
[Private Audio]
[He's resisting the urge to mention it's the sort of thing that helps him pinpoint which drugs to prescribe in cases that need them. Mentioning drugs doesn't seem like a good idea right now.]
What you've been through would be traumatic for anyone, regardless of these other things on top of it.
[Private Audio] Good thing not to mention that, yeeeaaaah.
[Private Audio] He's learning
[Private Audio]
[[but oh man did he twitch at that last part. Trying to get his back up, huh?]]
[Private Audio]
[He doesn't care what he does at this point as long as it gets Bakura to accept some help already...]
