What: Sam and Tamara are having a nice picnic together. Obviously we can't have that, so the gigglewater causes all sorts of echoes to happen. Hilarity ensues?
Where: A park near Sam's apartment.
When: Backdated to August 2nd!

[Okay, so the last few months haven't been the most ideal for a new relationship. Between the depressing memories of death that came with the trouble in the mines, and Sam's injury and even Tamara being busy with her schoolwork...they haven't really had a chance to have all that many dates.

And for a romantic like Sam, that won't do at all. Which is why he decided that, broken leg or no, he is going to put together a nice, simple date for Tamara. A picnic is pretty romantic, isn't it? And it's summer, so now's the time to do it! Which is why he made plans to have lunch with Tamara at the park nearby. He made sandwiches and homemade iced tea, and even got his mom to help him make some sushi rolls. Honestly, he's pretty pleased with himself.

He claimed a picnic table in a more secluded area of the park underneath a tree, and put a tablecloth over the table and placed the picnic basket on top of it. Now all he has to do is wait for his Princess to arrive.]

[One other good thing about the summer was the fact that there were no classes on Fridays. True, summer classes could suck at times, but it let her stay here instead of going home and staying was a good thing right now even if the past couple of months have been full of bad stuff.

She was a bit late in arriving, but not too badly late. She definitely looks nice in a pale purple sundress with darker purple flowers on it and a cute pair of matching sandals.]

I hope I didn't make you wait too long.

[with a grin] No, not long at all. I just finished setting up. Here...

[He gets up from his seat at the table and reaches into the basket, grabs a bouquet of purple irises that were resting on top of the food, and holds them out to her with a flourish.]

Thank you for joining me today, Rapunzel.

[She'll take the flowers from him. She's definitely smiling, and blushing a bit especially when he uses that nickname again.]

And why would I not wish to spend time with my favorite knight?

[Good, he was hoping those would go over well. He bows.]

You're too kind.

[Then he straightens back up and starts to pull out food from the basket.]

So, I made sandwiches and sushi! I wasn't sure what type you'd like so I made a few different ones...turkey and provolone, ham and swiss and pastrami and cheddar for the sandwiches, and cucumber rolls and unagi rolls for the sushi. Oh, and I made a few bottles of freshly brewed iced tea!

[She's still smiling, truly he did obviously make an effort to do something nice for her and it's all so sweet.]

I'm really not picky, so all of that is good.

[She'll go ahead and sit down at the table.]

[He sits down as soon as she does.] Great! I guess I went a little overboard on the choices then, haha. [He grabs a turkey sandwich for himself.]

Nice day today, huh? I love summer weather!

[She just grabs one at random, looks like it's ham and swiss.]

Except for the hot part. Black hair and summer never tend to mix very well.

[with a chuckle] You could try bleaching your hair, like me!

I'd never be able to get used to it. It looks good on you like that, but I doubt the same would be true for me.

Hmm, you might be surprised. [He pauses to drink some tea.] But I love your hair the way it is, so there's no need to change it if you like it.

I actually did always want to grow it longer, but not deal with that awkward phase where it's always in the way. Not as long as hers, but definitely longer than it is now.

[And she goes ahead and takes her own sip of tea and also a bite of the sandwich.]

Oh? With your powers you could probably pull it off...

I can, but it would also give away that I'm not exactly normal any longer. I'd like to continue that impression for as long as I can.

Hmm, true...maybe you could say it's extensions for a while? And then later you can say you grew it out?

Depends on the length I'm going for. I don't plan on it being as long as hers, I'd probably trip over it!

[teasingly] You don't? How am I supposed to climb up into your dorm room otherwise?

Rope ladder maybe?
