Following up on a couple of things. First, I found my cat. I...appreciate the concern.
[Those last words are so incredibly awkward, it's impossible not to notice. And he realizes it, clearing his throat. There's a long pause. After what he saw last night, he really can't deny that weird shit is going down anymore.
Weird, dangerous shit]
Anyhow. What "Ellie" said earlier wasn't wrong. How many of you are capable of self-defense, or any form of combat? It's obvious most of you people [Said with a hint of disdain he simply can't mask] won't step up, but whoever will might appreciate if you can defend yourself. You know, until they can fight your battles for you.
If anyone wants to learn some basics, let me know. It might make a difference if you can hold out long enough.
[He pauses here, because it's a point at which he doesn't feel he has the upper hand, per se. Rather, he has to ask for something. And he hates that]
I'd...also like to know who else is willing to fight, if someone ends up in trouble. It's the responsibility of the strong to protect the weak. Someone has to be there to do something about this... [He grapples with his vocabulary, but there really are no words to adequately describe mutant animals and people becoming monsters] these things.

That's quite chivalrous, but how basic is... basic? [Now it's her turn to sound awkward. Thalassa knows she doesn't have the body of a fighter, but after hearing about Shiro and the infestations, it would help to be prepared.]
no subject
[Once again, with the most uneasy tone. Like the word doesn't know it wants to come from his mouth]
And I mean whether you could hold off something if it came at you.
no subject
...Huh, I doubt it.
[She's a damn twig and she knows it :\]
no subject
[Because after Fred's situation, it seems like a mighty good idea to ask]
no subject
[It's said a little defensively, but after a moment, she takes a deep breath.]
Lets just say that phys ed was never my strong suit growing up. I could try, at least, but that's all I can promise.
no subject
I'm pretty sure we don't get to pick our battles here.
no subject
When will you be holding classes? Or these lessons, I guess.

[And excuse her for a moment, she's just gonna scroll up and read through that exchange he had.]
...People are gaining crazy abilities and are having memory issues and she's worried about that? God.

[Reluctant. She likes other people's families and he's right, but she's never had much of a connection to her own.]
Just feels like it would be the last thing that should be on her mind.

If in the end one less person's nearly killed waiting for help, I'll tolerate it. Just hope it doesn't start raining mommies asking why I'd do this.

Despite some impressions, most people on here seem to believe they know what they're getting into. I've only seen just a few actual children, and they should be the only ones we should really worry about.
no subject
[Although he still respects them far more than his peers...]
Not that many have any formal training. If we're going to avoid casualties, I see that as a potential setback.
no subject
[That's her logic anyways. Responsibility doesn't always equal maturity to her.]
And you have had training?
no subject
[There's something on the edge of bitter in his voice. When he speaks again, however, it's gone]
I'm in the military.
no subject
[She sounds cool about it herself, but otherwise, Thalassa's more than willing to drop the conversation.
In fact, now she sounds a little impressed. There's police officers on this, but no military officers as far as she knows.]
For how long?
no subject
Doubtless because he minds his manners]
About two years.
no subject
She laughs a little aimlessly.] Then you're probably the most qualified out of any of us to do something like this.
no subject
[First moment of any sort of modesty, she ought to get a prize]
I actually hoped there were more soldiers here.
no subject
There seem to be a few police officers here too, but their training is likely to be different.
no subject
Should still include hand-to-hand and firearms. Their position might be dangerous though.
no subject
Not to mention some of them might not be so willing to devote time to something like this.
