4 - video
[ It's the early morning, and Mordin is clearly tired - there are dark circles under his eyes. Even without needing to sleep as much as a regular human, he's been pushing it, but he does seem happy.]
Have good news! Perhaps not directly related to our threat, but believe its relevant nonetheless. Woke up recently with new knowledge about genetics. Now aware of several key pieces of information that modern genetics was previously unaware. Better yet, can "discover" most of it myself - didn't learn too much beyond reach of modern genetics. Might be able to make significant breakthroughs with regards to treatment of several genetic diseases, including cancer.
On top of that, if anyone worried about echoes which have altered their bodies, can examine genes to ensure nothing is dangerous.
[He breaks off, yawning, and then smiles ruefully.]
Should probably take a nap.

Need to discuss something with you.

Consider us friends?

private text;
I mean, more or less. Or at least, cordial acquaintances. I'm sort of bad at friendship, honestly
Wow I'm overthinking it. Yes.
What's up?
Re: private text;
Beyond that, had an earlier echo involving medical/biological knowledge of alien species known as "salarians". Never brought it up - didn't think it was relevant at the time - but examination of own genome reveals disturbing similarities. Salarians have similar enhanced metabolism, although to greater degree: only require one hour of sleep per night. My own metabolic genes similar to theirs.
If ever fully recover salarian-level metabolism, will be lucky to live past forty.

God damn it, why are terrible things happening to everyone I know? Wait, also, how old are you now? Fuck.
Maybe we'll get lucky and someone will get back memories of some advanced transhuman superscience that'll help with that, I dunno.
Re: private text;
Don't think there's going to be much on transhuman super-science front, unfortunately. Thirty years for salarians equal to about fifty human years.

Ah yes - come in for examination, correct?
[He tosses him a cotton ball.]
Swab inside of your cheek. Also, don't believe I caught your name.

My name's Alex. I have a picture, too. Of what I might end up looking like.

[See also the reason he's communicating via audio instead of video or text. Since he turned into some kind of bug-monster, video's too potentially jarring without warning, and texting is hard with monster hands that are larger than what he's used to.]

Stupid question, of course you are.
I suppose the real question is, what do you plan to do, now that you know?
Re: [private | text]
Suppose will focus on using new knowledge of genetics. Help mankind, leave a legacy, all that.
