[Alex usually handwrites his posts to the secret network, but he keeps forgetting not everyone can read them. He hasn't forgotten this time, but he makes it audio so no one will see how uncertain he looks.]

Has enn, anyone had one of those vision things, ing-zuh, where you remember, like, a family, lee, member you don't have in... I guess real life? We're still calling-ing it that, right?

Also, pretty sure I got confirmation, shun, that the guy whose memories I'm getting-ing isn't human.

Right. I never saw him.

I've had one dream, dree-muh, two, like, actual visions, shuns, and whatever happened in the caves. This whole repeating-ing deal came back after a vision about it. That was when I started to think, ink, he was weird somehow.

Is it - he... wouldn't be used to speaking - with... -- human sounds?

[Alex has made his rough sketch by now, and holds it up.]

Not used to sounds, sound-zuh, at all. That's what his brother looked like, the best that I can ree, remember.

Even had it not been object of the topic at hand his attention would've hung on the lack of mouth. Not used to sounds at all - he goes on to ask this question only out of curiosity; he assumes there is an answer.]

-- How did he... communicate?

[At the core he's jarred, but only faintly - the thought of expecting to turn into something indeed alien, and nothing more. Again, Alex can expect - and, so suggested, shape-shift. To some extent at least.]

I'm not ex, exactly sure. Some form of telepathy, thee, I think. In the memory, anyway, it was like I-- he-- whichever, it was like hearing-ing a voice in my head.

[It felt totally natural at the time, and, like so much else about the vision, up to and including his brother's appearance, only seems startling or strange after the fact. Or, really, like it should seem weird, but doesn't.

Alex is kind of getting used to that feeling.]

I'll have to... fig, figure something out. If I do change.

[He feels a twinge of guilt, because Anthony's already dealing with that.]

[Anthony inevitably wonders whether or not telepathy - which Alex will surely find himself with, it doesn't occur to him to doubt, it's part of what the source of his visions is - would then only be for the communication of the species who have it or whether it could be used to speak to humans, too; potentially a fantastic benefit to look forward to, especially for the purposes of being among them.]

You can control the tail - now... Can't you? [That is more to affirm the fact than it is a rhetorical question.]

...I'd be -- hopeful. [Strangely he can't seem to feel wrong for implicitly discouraging taking caution - this is definitely a far distinct enough case that he isn't being hypocritical.]

[Alex laughs.]

I still need more prack, practice.

[He thinks about the vision things in light of what he knows now. There's one question he still doesn't have enough information to answer.]

I'm not sure why my bod-ee felt wrong in some of the memories, ree-zuh. I think other-me was in his usual body in one. But I'm pretty, tee, sure he was human in another, and that it felt weird to him. Which kinda seem-zuh to mean he's not a freaky, kee, looking alien all the time.

[Anthony's brow raises faintly - further promise; Alex has already proposed shape-shifting, and the vision of a life he's inheriting it from is of someone who has been human - to be supported of course by notion of why he would have...]

Was -- that - the one that he was... with humans - in? That memory.

I've had two memories, ree-zuh, with humans in them. That was one of them. I think it was the same human-zuh both times, too, but I'm not sure.

[He thinks for a moment. None of the humans seemed surprised (or disturbed) by him, not the way his other self's friend was in the very first memory.]

I think they knew he was an alien.

How? [Just under a second's pause and blink before and after, with something in his tone dialing back just short of a notch - he's pressing at questions on a subject that answers are still coming on, he's aware and a bit sorry for it - but curiosity proceeds...]

Do you know how he - knew -- them?

I don't know yet.

[Alex frowns thoughtfully, trying to remember the dream and the vision, and what, if anything, more he can tell from the little details of either.]

They're his friends, friend-zuh, but I don't know how they met. One of them is diff, different. Like, not human either. But I don't ree, remember how. I don't think he was another alien.
