track two | text/audio;

[there is what looks distinctly like a hardwood floor. and attempts at writing in blood on it. that's a network number, anyway. those of you who remember this sort of thing might remember it as belonging to a recent arrival to the Secret Numbers Club.

whatever effort that was to accomplish was quickly abandoned a few scribbled attempts at letters in. Blues managed to get back to his laptop, groping around his desk to make his way. he clenched his jaw to keep himself from screaming again as another wave of agony hits from where his eyes used to be. it felt like something was pushing its way in.

remembering he'd left it open on a fresh Word doc, he enters his number. he'd rarely been so glad for touch typing. before he types anything else, the network will be greeted with another barely-restrained scream. he doesn't trust himself to speak right now.

[She closes and then locks the door.]

Yeah, that's uh.

Hm.

... Anyway, hold still, I've got the doctor on the phone, he wants a picture.

[Click]

Annnd with that done, I'm going to take you to a chair, and then get some water, and you're going to try to bandage that at least.

[ she resists the urge to sort of yank him over to the chair, and takes his hand. She's still got her leather driving gloves on to hide he metal in her arms, but he can probably feel the weird joints underneath that.

She leads him over to a chair.
]

Right, so, just uh. Sit. I'll be right back.

[She gets a glass of water and also a small bowl, after some digging to actually FIND the stuff.]

Two advil, doctor says I can't give you more than that.

[Advil in one hand, glass of water in the other.]

gonna threadjack now, hope that's okay.

[Mordin dials Chris's network number.]

Starsky, have arrived. Need door open.

[Oh hello message on phone.]

Doctor Solus is here, I'm going to go get the door. Don't get up.

[And she goes and lets Mordin in]

I gave him two advil and some water, but that's all I've managed so far. He's over there. Still conscious.

[And boy is she glad she wore black tonight, because now there's blood on her leather jacket, whoops.]

[personal profile] testsonseashells 2013-07-11 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
[Mordin walks over quickly and activates his omni-tool. The orange light bathes the surroundings as he scans his patient. Mordin looks at the readings, and then up at the other two.]

Eyes are completely liquefied in order to make space for self-assembling artificial replacements. Thankfully most nerve connections already made; painkillers relatively safe for him. Will need to remove liquefied tissue, however. Might be unpleasant.

[Chris is now kind of standing awkwardly in the corner. She raises an eyebrow at the omnitool, but puts that down to "neat Echo thing" and well, now's not the time to ask. ]

Yeah, when I came in I thought this looked familiar. Same thing happened to me, pretty much.

Anything I can do to help?

[personal profile] testsonseashells 2013-07-12 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
[Mordin looks over the available painkillers and hands Blues a dose.]

Take these. Once that's done, will remove tissue and disinfect sockets. Still going to be somewhat painful, unfortunately. Starsky, will need container to store tissue.

[personal profile] testsonseashells 2013-07-18 04:35 pm (UTC)(link)
[Mordin does his work quickly, but it does basically consist of pouring the liqeufied eyes out and rubbing disinfectant into the sockets to prevent infection. It's really weird to look at and the disinfectant probably stings a lot.]

Should be done. Keep eyelids closed until new eyes grow in - safer that way.

[personal profile] testsonseashells 2013-07-19 11:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[Mordin nods, scans one more time, examines the readout, and shuts the device off.]

Should get some rest now. Starsky - would be good if you could stay with him. Better he isn't alone in this condition.

[He scribbles his contact information twice on a note and hands it to each of them.]

In case you need me. Should tell me if anything goes wrong.

[He yawns, then smiles ruefully.]

Suppose I couldn't stay awake forever. Goodnight, you two.

[And with that, Mordin Solus takes his leave.]
