[This feels ridiculous, but she has to ask it. Ever since that Echo about Allomancy hit it's been bugging her non-stop and this seems like the best way to figure it out. Normally she might have gone to one of her sources on this but it seems safer here, and easier to explain for that matter so she'll check here first.]

This is a weird question but does anybody out there know where I can find steel with as close to a 99-1 percent mix between iron and carbon as possible? And not a lot of it, just a couple of pounds at most. Maybe online or something.

[A pause. Okay, this might need some explanation even here.]

It has to do with one of those pulses or whatever they're called.

I would guess a steel mill would be your best bet, but I would also assume they generally don't sell such small quantities.

It's an oddly specific request. What do you plan on trying with it?

[He's wondering what sort of power might be activated by steel, but he's not pushing any further.]

Understandable...sadly, the best I think I can help you out with is some stainless steel cookware. I doubt it meets those exact specifications.

Try contacting the university. Tell them you're using it for some sort of research project or an art project; that might be enough of a story for them.

Try the library. You can use one of the computers there to get online without having to pay.

Easier to research it at this stage before you've committed to a purchase.
