[ phone audio, friday morning ]
[ It's been a while, and again, after the recent things happening, the danger, Kallie's been going over the options and spending far more time thinking than she's usually used to. It's with a low voice she addresses the network- a curious decision given her history of a generally strict adherence to text, but... she's got her reasons. ]
I've gathered a few of you are new to the city, so you might not know about this. [ Or well, she already knows there's people from here too who don't know but CARRYING ON... ] There's a sort of festival that's put on for summer at LCU. It's free to go but there's quite a bit to do, so... if you're looking for something that isn't really that serious the next few days, it's an option.
[ She cuts herself off from tacking on an "I guess" there at the end, and simply goes with putting up a URL for the whole shebang for anyone interested instead. Advertised is one "Streaking Summer," complete with promises of lots and lots of food and entertainment, music from bands of varying popularity, a paint fight(!), official-like 5k run... and a pointedly-bright fine print explaining that public nudity istechnically disallowed... ]

[He may be saying this because he went one year, and did exactly that: stand out and really not have much fun. Actually, it really doesn't seem like Kallie's kind of thing, either....]
Are you going?
[Audio]
[Audio]
[And he just sounds amused.]
Well, I hope it isn't too unbearable for you.
[Audio]
Mm.
[ She's got something else on her mind, and she pauses in that sort of tension-filled way that doesn't take anything said to reveal it, practically holding her breath until, abruptly: ]
I have the sword.
[Audio]
Sword? You mean-- oh, that one you showed me? How interesting! Do feathers still show up when you summon it? Or do you have to summon it?
no subject
Yeah. It's exactly the same, except it's... actually there, now.
[ Feathers and all. Even more feathers and all. ]
no subject
despite the icon name ahaha. Also, have a couple more questions, now that you've answered those:]I know some people have gotten weapons before-- even poor Chris with her arms. Do you know how to use it, or is it just... there?
no subject
[ Aaaand another pause, tight with more unspoken sentiment. There's another complication, even if she did know how to use it... ]
no subject
Is there something else?
no subject
It's too heavy.
[ All things considered, despite her would-be matter-of-fact tone, her demeanor has almost an embarrassed note to it. That, and frustration. The stupid weapon is entirely useless to her. ]
no subject
That's a bit of a problem, you're right. How heavy is it? Can you at least carry it?
no subject
... Thirty, forty pounds, maybe?
[ Waaaay heavier than a normal sword for sure. ]
no subject
That does seem a little excessive. Apparently this other person who that belonged to is also particularly strong.
[Which suggests that either Kallie will be come strong enough for it... or that she needs to do some working out, to make up for it. Or else simply not use the thing. That's an option, too.]
no subject
Yeah...
[ She isn't really used to thinking of the source of all this as a different person, even if it makes sense. It's just weird. But, after a beat or two, in an experimentally hesitant tone: ]
I don't think she's someone... people would want to mess with.
no subject
[Lyall sighs a bit.]
I don't suppose... you'd let me see it? Your new weapon? What little I saw of it was... very interesting.
no subject
... I guess. [ A beat. ] Like I said though, I'm going to be... pretty busy this next week.
no subject
[And given what's happening that weekend, it's unlikely he'll even remember. She might wind up off the hook, at least until something reminds him.]
no subject
[ A quiet concession, but her word is good despite her reluctance to show off her shiny new tool of doom. The implied "I'll call you" may as well be a promise with this girl. ]
no subject
Sounds good. I'll talk to you whenever you've got a moment, then.
no subject
[ Le sigh. But, it's not like she can just ignore it, as much as the thought is oh-so-tempting to the part of her that just wants to be a normal girl, damn it.
She could, but she just can't, when people are in danger and it really looks like they can be hunted down eventually anyway. So, she brings up what's newest and then agrees to this sort of thing... because she doesn't know what else she can do. All she can hope for is that it's at least close to - or a step in the direction of - whatever she's supposed to do with what she keeps being given here. ]
