Some thoughts.

This network was created just over a year ago, at the beginning of April 2013. Nobody knows how, or why, or by whom if there is a whom. People have noted echoes (or pulses, if you prefer that term) previous to that date, however, so it's possible that the echoes are tied into the nature of the network but not the cause or effect.

The logic behind it all is still unclear, however. Does everyone who receives an echo receive access to this network as well, or only a subset? Why are members of this network detectable in some way, by dogs or by chemicals? Why are we perceived to be a threat?

And I'm somewhat hesitant to go this far, but could there be some purpose to it all? The thought seems absurd, but at the same time I have doubts on whether it's all random. But assuming there is a purpose: what is it? Is the network's purpose and/or that of the echoes we receive to facilitate the achievement of that one, and if so what would happen if that purpose were to be fulfilled?

This is all speculative, of course. I'd be surprised if anyone had answers.

I am sure there must be a purpose. As to what that purpose may be, it's still a mystery to me as well.

That doesn't mean we can't look for answers ourselves.

It is, we may be able to understand things better, more quickly with all of us working towards this goal.

Not as of yet, right now I am curious to see what others have found at the moment which will aid in my own research.

I've been discussing some possibilities on the nature of echoes above, if that might pique your curiosity.

It's all very fascinating, especially the part of us having an energy that may come with us from where we are from.

Perhaps it is an energy which has been latent until something, or someone has decided it is time for us to remember who we were and regain our abilities.

Latent energy...that's a possibility, yes, or some kind of activation. That could explain the fact that a number of people all became aware of this network on the same date.

It makes me wonder if location has something to do with it as well. I never received Echoes in Japan.

That much is certain. Until recently they've all been restricted to a Locke City boundary.

I wonder what it is here that seems to activate our latent energy, if that is what is happening.

Good question. The presence of the aliens, perhaps, or something of a similar nature? It could explain why certain things, like that giant snake, have caused people to receive echoes.

Did anyone receive echos from the presence of the aliens? That could explain our purpose being here and to recover our past selves.

Some did seeing the snake, I believe. I'm not sure of the rogue alien's effect, but I know I received an echo when I watched that broadcast the other day.

So there are certain triggers, perhaps mostly visual then.

Possibly. I'd like a few more incidents to be sure, but it does seem to be a pattern.

Any more encounters we will have to be mindful of the effects then.

Naturally. It looks like we may be seeing more of the ones that showed up recently, so we may get a chance yet.
