[There's a brunette almost glaring at the screen when it flips on, but you just get a quick flash of the person before he's flipping the camera to a blue and navy flight suit complete with a matching helmet which is laid out on his very messy bed.]

I was going to ignore this but I guess I can't now considering this damn thing showed up on me while outside- in public... does it mean anything to anyone on here?

[He holds the phone on the suit for a moment longer before he's flipping it around to face him again. Deren has his hand up in his hair, resting heavily on it from his somewhat hunched position at his desk. The wall behind him is covered in posters and IKEA style shelving and the room he's in is pretty tiny.]

Also- anyone on here know anything about space and giant robots? I remember a few from when the snake attacked but I have no idea who they are on here and god I have a migraine- just help? [He both looks and sounds exhausted, and a little irritable.]

[ A moment passes with the video still steadied on the flight suit. Abruptly, it cuts again, leaving only audio. Now or never, right? ]

No, Gundams usually don't.

[There's a rush of air from his side of the line, and a muttered fuck- before he's answering.] So you've got one too... does the names 00, Exia or 0 mean anything to you? [He says the numbers out 'double oh' and 'oh' instead of pronouncing it like Zero.]

[ Banagher doesn't mind the wait before the inevitable answer, since he expected what would happen. Again, another pilot, and again, one who knows machines that he doesn't. ]

00? No, it doesn't, not to me. The model number of mine is RX-0. [ A beat. ] But — sorry about this... but what do you know about Virtue and Dynames? Anything?

[ If not the Unicorn, then this was the next best bet. ]

Why are you apologi-[There's another bout of silence, this one lasts about as long as the first before he's talking again.] You're doing this on purpose aren't you? How many times a day can this happen I think I'm at four!

[A beat.] And to answer your question- Dynames was the one with green right? Virtue had more white but I couldn't see it that well- Dynames was mostly blocking it.

[ There it was, he recognizes the sound of silence very well by now. ]

Because it's like that for everyone, when you share memories! Even having things in common like that, it's still hard to tell what sets the pulses off. So... sorry.

[ At least he was right. ]

Those machines, the Gundams. They're here right now.

[The fact this is normal for everyone- getting stopped every few sentences because someone says something that triggers something is crazy and has him taking a deep breath to keep from snapping.

Right- Gundams. He'll focus on that.]

They fought that snake too, right? I only saw some crappy pictures of what I've come to find out are different robots- uh the ones with the liquid in the cockpit you know- because life isn't crazy enough as it is!

[Sighs.]

[ He'd say, "You get used to it" — but he can't do that in good confidence. ]

Yeah, I know. I've had a year to warm up to it, and I still don't think that time helped me any... all of them were downtown, but the differences between the two are really something else.

[ Like size, for example. It'd taken all three Gundams to haul up one drained Eva. If that hadn't made it onto Youtube, he'd eat his helmet. (He also hasn't been brave enough to look.) ]

It sounds like you might know the other two Gundam pilots though. From before.

I know one was pointing a gun at me at some point in our past lives. I'm not sure why though.

[Thus far- totally unimpressed with this.] Did your pulses end up giving you headaches too? And-

[He pauses, because does he really want to admit this out loud..... there's a long pause before finally he's speaking again.] You can't hear voices right? I'm not talking about the kind that tell you to kill the neighbor girl- like just over hearing a conversation or someone asking for help.

[ Great, on both counts. Banagher doesn't know what sort of people Neil and Eugen used to be, but he has to believe at least some kind of core carried over. Something that he trusts now. And the headaches? Just like Eugen. ]

No, I didn't get headaches. But I did get a power, and because of that, I know why you guys get them isn't normal.

[ A beat. ]

But not in the way you're thinking! I can't hear the voice you're talking about, but I can hear people if they're trying to get to me. If that's the case for you, or if it's anything similar, someone must be trying to get you to listen.

[transcender]

[If this were video, he'd see Deren rubbing a hand through his hair and pulling a face.] I was always told to ignore voices if they started talking to you.

[Sighs.] Right- well. Next time they talk.. I'll answer. [Pause] How do you hear people that are trying to get to you? Like a cellphone? Or a beeper?

[argents]

And I was always told stories were just that — stories. Stuff like giant robots and magic appearing all over the streets was impossible, but...

[ WELP, HERE THEY ARE. WELCOME TO WONDERLAND. ]

Anyway, if I was in a position to help someone who could only talk to me, and I didn't... I think I'd regret it. So all you can do is try, I suppose. In that vein, you could call my power a sixth sense. A cellphone would be pretty convenient though.

[He breathes a laugh, a low chuckle before he's answering.] I was more concerned with the fact I was pretty sure I was going insane- that or I had a tumor since my slight headache became a migraine two days ago.

Guess this is a case of seeing is believing. Enough of you three causing all these damn memories and getting suits back like mine sure helps me lean towards the fact I'm not insane and the world really is just this screwed up.

[ Banagher says nothing, because it's not really something he has a good counter for. How did you break it to someone that their own head wasn't ever going to be entirely "theirs" again? ]

Even if it is, right now, it's the only one we have.

[transcender]

You sound like my mom. [Which isn't an insult surprisingly, even if he doesn't say it with any sort of praise in his voice.

In his little apartment he's tapping his hand on the desk and staring at the suit.] What exactly am I expected to do? I'm a pilot but I don't have a robot to fight in so what am I supposed to do?

[argents]

[ Banagher lets out an exhale at the comment, but overall, it's a vague noise. Patient, grateful that whole spiel was over with, affronted he just got compared to a mom...

...well. Not all mom comments had to be negative. So he shrugs at his phone, even if the other speaker can't see it. ]

I don't know. That's the question all of us ask, I think. What do you want to do?

[ He pauses, and amends: ]

Besides forget. To do that, you'd have to leave Locke.

[It would be his luck that when he turned down his parents latest offer to move to Cali and live with them- he'd get this as a reward.]

So what's going on with Las Vegas? I didn't see the lights but I've seen enough mentions of them.

[ The Numbers Club: forever making you reevaluate your life choices. ]

I'm not sure, myself. I heard a lot of people with "numbers" have been showing up there though, and some people from Locke have gone there to see. From what I remember — I came in a few days late — the pink lights going up like that, the Vermini appearing... that's what happened here at first. Almost exactly.

[ When Wise Snake had gone down, the thing none of them were anticipating was a precedent. Let alone for future occurrences. ]

So... if what you're saying is right and it's all happening exactly like it did here, does that mean Las Vegas is going to have a huge ass snake appear from under a casino? [He says this with mild disbelief in his voice. Because that fucking sucks.]

I hope not. But with the way things are going, we can't rule it out. We can't afford to rule it out.

[ Then again, the only reason he can have even one degree of confidence in heading this off at the pass is because of the giant freaking robot sitting at LCU right now. ]

Right- so I should probably be preparing for another large snake to hit the news eventually.

[Least it might happen somewhere else, right?]

At least I didn't really plan on vacationing in Las Vegas any time soon.

Neither did I, though it's not because I didn't want to go, exactly. Turns out, giant robots are hard to get clearance for, when you're going across the country.
