A funny thing happened at the mall yesterday.

I don't know if anyone else has noticed non-numbers club people... zoning out at random, I guess is the best way to put it? It happened to a couple of my students, but I'd just chalked it up to bored kids, and they snapped out of it quickly enough.

The effect is spreading. I think it hit a good half of a store at one point. And another interesting effect - it hit me with an urge to laugh, again. I managed to school my reactions long enough to get through it (dealing with third-graders' awkward questions is good for something), and it faded when everyone else came to their senses, but still.

I don't think they're done trying to flush us out.

This happened in one of my classes after lunch, in the middle of someone answering a question. I wasn't tempted to laugh, myself, but it was definitely concerning, even creepy.

I'm mostly concerned with the potential effect on said students. What does this mean for people who aren't us?

They don't, no. Do we have any idea what it might correlate with? If it brings on the giggle-fits, it may be connected to that water additive from earlier. I was told that was gone, however.
