ii. [handwritten]

In my years, I've experienced a number of strange things. But out of all of them, not remembering why I'd booked a flight back to this city until I arrived here has to be among the top ten.

Hello again, everyone. I hope the rest of you haven't proven to be as forgetful as this old man.

[Now there's some familiar handwriting. Lyall is actually glad to see it.]

Welcome back :) The experience of leaving the city and then coming back is very strange, isn't it? I had the same problem visiting my parents. At least I knew I *had* to come back.

In case no one has warned you yet, don't drink the tap water. Or anything made with the tap water. It makes one laugh uncontrollably, and might just get you arrested.

[He's not that old... but he's about as geeky.]

You probably should. Though the privacy of your own home is probably the best place to experience it.

Did you have a productive time away?

[At least those children do make Lyall feel old... Elian's one of the few people here who doesn't!]

Home here, I mean. Or are you staying in a hotel?

I think the lad with the book report is a good way to spend a few weeks home, at the least :)

Definitely better to be safe, if you're in a hotel. Though I can't imagine anyone reporting someone to the police just for laughing, it has happened at least once that we know of.
