She sees DJ, and waves excitedly.]
Hey! Hey, DJ, it's me, Roxy!
[ooc: roxy -> dj -> thad]

Oh, hey. How'd it go?
no subject
[You know, until he remembered they were meeting up with this DJ character. He frowned when he saw the guy and was immediately reminded of the strange occurrence that happened during their conversation. He was pretty hesitant to go any further than grudging acquaintance on that fact alone.]
[But he was going to be nice, for Roxy's sake. He gives DJ a nod in greeting but otherwise remains quiet.]
no subject
Great! Also, fuck you, my kidneys are gonna be fine and you suck.
[She lets go, and points a thumb back at the other boy.]
This is Thad, I met him a few years back. Play nice, alright?
no subject
Hey--
[ And then he gets a better look at Thad. Oh. Ohhh. He isn't so bad on the eyes after all. He kind of stares. ]
no subject
What? ...I-Is there something on my face?
no subject
Yeah, she's just a little smug.]
Fuckin' told you.
no subject
DJ clears his throat and glances back down at his phone. ]
Anyway, glad to hear you're not dying.
no subject
[What is going on, he doesn't get it. Whatever it is, he's embarrassed and his ears are burning, screw you guys.]
no subject
[Roxy is perhaps the only person in this situation who can say she has no regrets, and she revels in it.]
no subject
Anyway.
no subject
[He would really rather forget that whole debacle happened, okay? Okay.]
Anyway! Let's talk numbers or maybe coffee or anything really that has nothing to do with this entire subject!
no subject
Alright, fine. So DJ, what'd you get with your mysterious network code?
no subject
It was this weird -- I don't know, memory of a thing that never happened. I was swimming in some underwater city.
no subject
Someone was talking not too long ago about these occurrences on the network. They called them echos and someone suggested they were visions of a past life.
no subject
Wait, like reincarnation?
I didn't think this was, like, religious or anything.

Admittedly it also doesn't much add up to what I've seen, but it's something to think about, at least.
no subject
[Said completely seriously.]
No, but that is really weird. Thad, what'd you see?

When I was thirteen, I got lost on a seedy part of town. Somehow that triggered a scene where I was being chased through a dense jungle by monsters.
no subject
[Roxy's eyes have widened, and she's gone back to gesturing wildly. Her hands flail as she searches for the word.]
The thing, the thi - the network, that's what I mean, was it the same monsters?
Skipping DJ per his mun
I'm not sure. I didn't get a good look in the vision, I just knew that I was being chased my monsters. It's possible.
Re: Skipping DJ per his mun
[Roxy trails off, and then turns to DJ.]
So what brings your family out here?
no subject
He tears his eyes away from the hunk of man-meat to answer Roxy. ]
Oh, uh. Mom got transferred. Job stuff.
