6th Howl [Text/Friday early morning]

There is a new statue in the Dead District, in the small square on the corner of 8th and Lincoln. It has the same effects as the first in the police station, except it makes me want to leave the area, not trust someone. Has anyone else been by it? Has anyone else touched it?

What interest could these people, and Thunder Corporation, have in keeping people out of that part of the city? What connection could the Thunder Corporation have with the people who want to find the "snake" and shoot kids?

And does anyone know anything about David Proud, the sculptor? I can't find anything much online. There must be some connection with him, as well, if he's making these things.


Also a note to my students:
If you don't see me around school today, don't worry, I'm fine! I just called in sick today.

Sculptor, huh. Local? I know a few local artists trying to break it into the scene, or... whatever the terminology is here, lol. I'll ask around.

I don't know if he's local. There wasn't much to be found online, and the article in the paper is very short and hidden near the back.

Be careful if you do go. The statues have odd mental effects and might bring on more of those visions or changes we have been experiencing. That, and I don't know if it's being watched, so anyone visiting for no reason may be suspect.

Parts of it seem all right in the day, so long as you avoid places where people loiter. But as you are concerned, good sir/madam, I shall endeavor to sally forth and return intact!

Sir :) I'd be happy to share my name in a more private medium. I'm not entirely sure whether those enemy types have gotten access at all, or whether they will in the future.

A fair point. If cell phones can be monitored, why not this? It's why I've yet to show my face or voice, actually. Perhaps I should come up with a penname.

An amusing idea. I don't have a camera on my laptop, so thankfully I don't even have video capability.

Though not having names is a bit frustrating. I'm not bad at remembering all these numbers, but trying to humanize them can be hard when you don't know the name on the other side, let alone the face.

Maybe we should set up a forum somehow. Usernames and icons which presumably have some personal meaning, but are rather opaque on their own. And then when any of us two meet, it's all "I'm BondJulesBond - actually it's John Smith". Balance out the spy-ish look and the utter absurdity of that.

I don't think I can pull off anything remotely spy-ish, but the thought makes me smile, at least! Perhaps once you've made your visit with your friends and I'm not longer hovering around the bathroom just in case breakfast wants to make a revisit, I can do the meeting in person thing?
