Decided to collate information collected from Sage. Said he spoke for Earth, which chose us to defend it (Earth apparently sapient?). Claimed invaders "alien", "inhuman". Apparently, controlled Earth in past, and are attempting to reclaim it (suppose this supports claims of "gardening" on negotiation forum). Told to find "seven Gems of Earth", one located within mine, and forge seal in order to keep invaders out. According to Sage, won't be able to defeat them.

Should clarify: don't know if Sage is trustworthy. Merely reporting on what he told us.

Upon completion of message, Sage died. As of now, whereabouts of corpse unknown. Return trip to mine entrance to find corpse failure.

Will edit this to reflect new information. As always, LSR clinic open to anyone injured in mine or wishing to have physical alterations examined.

Also, considering dubbing invaders "Gardeners". Thoughts?

I don't know. It seems kind of mundane for what we're up against. Also, can we really be sure about the gem thing? It sounds kind of ... well I was going to say unrealistic, but then again look at what's been happening.

Does that mean we should call ourselves the Weeds?

Perhaps. Unsure about veracity of Sage's information - still, as noted, motives of "Gardeners" appear in line with information gathered from negotiation network.

Don't know. Suppose we could try to go back into mine with more weapons, but considering how werewolf hunting party turned out, may not go well.

"Gardeners" sounds wussy as hell. Wussy and lame and incredibly unterrifying!
Maybe name them after intimidating gardening implements instead. Like "the lawnmowers"! "Scythes"? "Rakes"?

There are way more questions than just what the fuck we call these assholes. I mean, for starters, can we even trust that guy in the mine? I mean, like, it look like he died. How fucked up is that? Why the fuck would the "Earth" or whatever kill some guy that was working for them? This sounds like some stereotypical "us vs them" propaganda that Mitt Romney would use. And this gem business-- Are they actually gems? What if other assholes have already found them and sold them to museums? Come on, it was a mine. People mine for things in a mine, and usually they stop mining for things when they don't find anything valuable anymore. When did aliens control the earth? I don't remember that shit from history class. Or geology. Or anything. You'd think we'd notice if aliens were controlling shit.

Have no idea whether Sage is trustworthy. Merely collecting his information in one place. In any case, Earth much older than humans. "Gardeners" may have been here before us.

As for gem location, something we'll have to figure out ourselves, likely with better equipped, smaller team.

If I hadn't been down there to hear everything, this would totally sound like something out of Captain Planet.

Thought it felt like a TV show or video game plot myself. Still, danger obviously very real, regardless.

Ugh. I dunno. It's just that... Well, all this shit's rubbing me the wrong way? Like why do we all happen to be in this city? And who made this network? Isn't that suspicious, too? The "earth" can't make computer shit... That's just ridiculous?

I know. I can't imagine anyone being eager to go back down there, but if what he said was true...we might finally have something to help us.

Like I said, don't know. Will be fascinating to find out, though.

Worrying, puts a dent in our plans. His military connections valuable - shame we no longer have them.

Uh, one big thing is that 'Sage,' pretty sure people were saying he was dead afterwards. Not sure if that's a proper good guy trait going on in there.

Guess we'll only know what's up once someone either finds a 'gem' or a second trap.

More importantly, if this world actually functions like a goddamn RPG and I've been playing FPS all my life, I want a redo.

I don't want to just make assumptions...but I don't "feel" like he's in Locke, anymore.

How do we even figure this shit out? Like, where do we start? It'd be the dumbest thing in the world to just... Head back to the mines or something. But that's our best bet right now?

I dragged the sage guy up out of the mine. He seemed pretty dead. I kind of lost track of the body after that, I don't know if it's still there, but I got a couple of pictures of his face if you want them. And I don't think I have any comments on if any of that was true or not. It's kind of crazy if he was at all right, but how crazy is too crazy, these days?

How can we even beliieve anythiing that guy said. The whole thiing was just some setup!

I guess the hunting didn't go well then? The problem is, if it does exist and it is actually important, we're going to have to go back anyway.
