Lazarus is out of his element, and knows it. It all sounds so incredibly bizarre, and it's a world removed from anything he's comfortable or familiar with. That being said, he trusts Torin, and even though he understands little of what he's saying, he feels something akin to faith, knowing that the former parrot will use it to protect his friends. As corny as that sounds, what it comes down to is that Torin is a wise and trusted presence, and in these cases, maybe it's all right not to understand fully and completely.
