The way L immediately tensed on seeing him had him tilting his head as if in questioning. He didn't blame L for what had happened. It didn't feel right to really place the blame on anyone, given the circumstances, but he couldn't help but feel angry at the entire situation.

What was important, he had to keep telling himself, was to not misdirect that anger at the people who didn't deserve it.

"Yeah. Figured I could trust you enough to let me know if you'd heard anythin'." At least.. he'd hope so. Despite L's more troubling characteristics, he is someone that Richard would trust with Tony's safety.
