I looked at some selfies from a couple years ago and some today. My skin's changed, it's thinner now. Not as oily. So that might be it. But I think there's more of a hint of, um, lines around my eyes. [With laughing complaint] I'm twenty-five, this is way too early! And like half-Japanese, that's supposed to set them back more.

Then it should've cropped up when my skin changed! That was back last December.

I don't know, man, things are weird when it comes to this stuff. If it happened all at once I think we wouldn't all be so clueless about our echos. I wouldn't worry about it. It's probably just another thing.

I'm around your age, and I've noticed some things. But my lifestyle's always been kind of rough on my body, so I wouldn't call my results "typical."

Some birds live a long time, like parrots, but most really don't...

More data's still good. What have you noticed?

[Is he that transparent? Damn.] That's skewed by the mortality rate for the first few years. If they're not killed they tend to last a while.

Grey hairs, my hangovers are much worse, and I don't recover as quickly, if we're just talking in physical terms. But like I said... it's likely that it's years of hard living catching up to me and not what most people in their mid-twenties experience, especially models who are paid to take care of their skin.

[Probably not transparent, just... L's friends with Torin, who just had a birthday, and he's been thinking about this lately anyway.]

Is that so? Still... probably not as long as a human who lives a long life, so... maybe the lines around your eyes are reflecting that.

Well, I did notice that my wings were getting a little bigger.

[She shrugs, which can't be seen of course.]

But, other than that, nothing much.

They've grown? Like, the feathers are longer, or are the limb parts bigger?

Um, a little of both. They're still not big enough for me to fly with, and I don't think they ever will be, but I do think they're a little bigger than when I first got them.

They're... brighter, I guess.

Having gone through it forwards and backwards the biggest thing I noticed was the failing of senses. But with all of the network stuff that might not be as obvious.

You're far too young to be worrying about that, though.

...It's just skin. I need to settle on a moisturizer. I never got brand loyal or anything, my skin was so oily. Never thought I'd miss that, my acne was bad enough once upon a time.

You know, I can't imagine you with acne.

I know that some of the women I know talk about Body Shop? They talk a lot about all kinds of ridiculous high end brands as well, but that's the one that stands out that's more accessible. I never paid as much attention as I probably should have done, but I could ask, if you wanted.

Oh, I don't think I'm going to get older from now on. Being undead isn't so bad when I'm going to be forever seventeen.

How humans get older physically?

You get less flexible - at first, there really aren't all that many changes. But neither of us is human anymore, at least not to a degree that justifies expecting human development.

Sure!

You mean like more set in your ways, or physically less flexible? Or both? It's still something I want to know about. [a little wistful] I still want to consider myself human - not physically, I'm not that stubborn, but like in an identity way.

Both, maybe, though my father was as set in his ways when I was a child as he is now.

You still have a human mind, but you aren't human anymore, and age doesn't show much interest in how old you feel.

Oily skin doesn't wrinkle easily. And I've actually been mistaken for a teenager sometimes. It's worse for my sister, she's really short and always carded.

Oh, yeah, that'd suck. A lot of places card you if you don't look, like, thirty at least, though.

That seems pretty likely. Not like things have really been calm for a while. I've noticed these before, a little bit.

With everything going on it would not be surprising if our bodies started aging oddly.

Perhaps this is the way yours should be aging now. Who knows?
