General Miller hadn't let the minor emergency of Paul Ben's death disrupt his schedule. Quite concious that doing so would be suspicious, considering the base was otherwise run so smoothly by him, he had returned and just gotten back to work. And, at the same time as every other day, he had returned to his home on the base. and then given himself some time to process the day. His ultimate conclusion was 'seriously fucked up.'
But he was self assured it was entirely necessary by the time he was aware of the situation. It was Edward's mistake to bring him there, but at that time he just had to die. There. It was that simple. No more debate.
But he still needed the drink (and the four that followed) as he sat in the dark and the silence, unaware an uninvited visitor was about to drop by.
