Emil is a quiet presence, for most of the service. He can't claim to have known Anthony very well, but this fate is one that shouldn't have befallen anyone. Regardless of what they should look like or happen to be. Nor should parents be asked to bury a child. But he can't turn back time. No one can, and if this marks him out as being pro-Numbered at the very least, he doesn't care.

He's taken time off for this, and he's lucky to have managed it on such short notice.
