Lily Tsukuyomi is, all told, a rather subdued sort of person. She's rather emotional, sure, she'll get mad, sad, and happy, and people will know it - but it is very, very rare that anyone sees her completely in one direction or another. Only the closest to her really occupy that list.

Which is why it might seem so odd for anyone who might see her right now. Wearing far more colorful attire than is her usual outside special occasions, she is making her rounds both in the city and the hotel proper with an expression so cheerful she looks like she might pop at any given moment. Most strange, is the act of her even chatting up just about anyone who will listen to her or can understand her. Hell, for the latter she'll even do that with people who can't. That's certainly in contrast to trying to hide from everyone at the gathering on Saturday.

Whether getting things for her sick with the flu sister, continuing to poke around town to spy for clues on whatever disaster might be forthcoming, or checking up on anyone who needs help with just about anything, Lily is a bundle of energy coming out of the weekend, and is like that the whole day. Be forewarned if you cross her path - a bright ray of sunshine with purple hair is coming your way.

Getting things for a sick Jasmine is reason enough for Marina to be around Lily - aside from, you know, the whole fact that they're also friends. From the moment they meet up to go shopping, though, Marina's thrown for a bit of a loop by the cheeriness, and spent the start of the trip wondering if Lily found something other than alcohol to put in her system.

She stuck close, figuring that Lily would be better at communicating than her. "You're really enjoying yourself here. Maybe it's the fresh air..."

What Marina will find is Lily waving at and greeting practically everyone they come across as they enter the store, which is a good deal more than a normal person might due to the both of them sticking out like sore thumbs. This is strange enough for Lily given that the girl is not exactly what one would call a "social butterfly," no matter how many more friends she's made in the year she's been among the Numbered.

She's also humming as she goes along. Humming.

"Ah! Well, you know... after a month of feeling like we're on the run from people with guns trained to our heads-" Which they had been, basically. "-it's kind of... refreshing!"

Marina is fairly more sociable than Lily, and even she wouldn't be nearly this friendly. Granted, her brand of sociable isn't the friendliest kind to begin with, not back in school (school schmool) at least, but no matter what, this is weird for Lily. She ends up frowning at the humming as they go, thinking back to the past day or so. A lot of pairs had been sharing some degree of... living space... lately.

"Well you've got a point, I guess. People like us here a lot more than they do back home, that's for sure." Locke is just depressing. "You seem way more... refreshed than that would... you know, account for."

...hmmmmm.

"Soup!" She proclaims out of the blue. "Jasmine will probably hate it, but we should get some soup." Thus begins an immediate hunt in that direction, although it is notable that she doesn't actually know where she's going in the store since she can't. Read German.

...well, one could just look at it as an adventure! Her actual thoughts, someone please help this girl.

She laughs a bit airily at Marina's comment. "You make that sound like I'm doing something bad. I'm allowed to be in a good mood, right?"

Lily can probably read more German than Marina! A smarter person's zero is larger than a less educated person's zero right? Is that how you math a language? Marina's more or less relying on it. What kind of soup do they eat in Germany anyways? She's expecting something with beer and sausage and...

No. Focus. Not that Jasmine's well-being isn't important but she just got sidetracked from figuring out Lily's impossibly good mood.

"I dunno, I mean you're acting like you..." And then her eyes go wide, and, slowly, her lips curve up into an almost mean-spirited grin. "Heh."

Well, it's not quite a zero. Lily's already started studying the language, and she knows a few useful phrases here and there, but... it doesn't help her find the soup aisle. Still, that "heh" suddenly causes he to stop suddenly in her tracks. Something about it sends a chill straight up her spine, and she peers back over her shoulder, eyebrows raised in a slight bit of sudden worry.

"Acting like I... what?"

This is what she says.

What she thinks is more akin to: Crap, crap, crap, crap!

Marina isn't stopping. Come on Lily. Keep walking, while Marina slowly, with a smile, begins to applaud. Not entirely quietly, either, looking directly at Lily, because really, what else could it be? While she's got enough experience BSing that she was able to hide that look, that feeling, that aura, Lily doesn't seem to.

"Congratulations Lily." Now she can't help snickering a little. "And to Winter too."

"Eh?"

CRAP.

"Ehhhhhhhhh?! M- Marina, I... what are you talking about?" She looks around them, somewhat frantically. Are you really going to draw the store's attention to the both of you? "And can you stop applauding?"

No one here knows English well enough, they'll be fine. Still, Marina drops her hands, clasping them behind her back; she can't stop grinning though, leaning in a little closer to make sure any English speaking residents don't overhear her.

"Sometimes something beautiful happens in this world..." please don't let her keep singing this song even quietly, because she'll have to make up lyrics very, very shortly.

"...ahhh...?"

It takes Lily a couple moments of turning around fully and just... staring at Marina. Her mind is already tripping over itself trying not to just completely give herself away, beginning to realize what Marina is getting at and trying to find a way to weasel out of it, but failing to come up with any answers.

Then she realizes where the lyrics are going and she gives a minor, high pitched yelp.

And clamps a hand over Marina's mouth.

There is no weaseling any more, and Marina just ends up cackling against Lily's hand, arms wrapped around herself as she tries to not make TOO much more of a scene out of this. After all, she'd have probably felt... not as much shame if this happened to her, sure, but she'd be flailing a little at least? Finally, she bats the hand away, calming down a little.

"S-seriously though, I was wondering if you hadn't done it already." It was hard to tell, what with her and Jasmine keeping it a secret.

The thing about Lily Tsukuyomi is that she actually used to be a good liar. She'd hidden her emotions away under lock and key fairly well for years. The thing is, Winter and any number of people had done a good job changing that about her considerably. Which also meant she really wasn't getting out of this unscathed.

She waves her hands frantically, though her face is about as red as the beets they just passed in produce. "D- d- done..."

She shakes her head and gives a wooden, nervous laugh. "Ah-ha, Marina, you're... you're assuming an awful lot..."

"Done." Marina calms down, throwing an arm around Lily, patting her on the shoulder. Really, this does deserve congratulations, she figures, even if Lily doesn't seem to want to be congratulated. That might be the wrench thrown into her whole train of thought though.

"That thing people do. Knocking boots. Bumping uglies." Should she try to use more lesbian-specific terms? Should she learn those in the first place? "You're two adults in a steady, monogamous relationship after all."

Screaming internally. She'd be doing it externally, too, but she figures they've drawn enough undue attention. She doesn't shrug Marina away, but that's mostly out of sheer shellshock than anything else.

Her resulting description does nothing at all to help matters.

"Th- that sort of thing is also, um... p- private..." Her chipper mood is quickly retreating, being rapidly replaced by a much more familiar girl who looks like she wants to immediately hide. Not to mention picking up her girlfriend's old stuttering habit, at that. "And... if it, you know, happened, I- I'm not exactly going to go around bragging about it. Th- that'd just be..."

She is literally twiddling her thumbs, looking down at them. "I feel like I'd be betraying the trust there, you know?"

Stuttering is Winter's thing. Is it communicable or something? But, seeing Lily shrink away, Marina releases her and takes a step back. "Yeah, yeah, I know, it's not like I expected you to ever, you know, talk about it... not like I'm asking details here or anything. Just, you know, I totally figured it out, so it's hard not to take a few jabs at you."

Who actually twiddles their thumbs? Unfortunately, this leaves Marina at an impasse now, as she's not willing to say anything like 'welcome to the club' or 'I totally know how great it is, and that leaves her at a loss for a moment.

Going about town, Rakka was also very determined to find clues as to what they were looking for. She was even sober now, and much more energetic than she was a few days before.

She was also much more perfective now that her senses were firing on all cylinders again. So, it's not long before she sees Lily about town and goes over to say hi, not noticing as she gets closer how happy the other woman was yet.

"Hi! Are you still looking for clues too?"

Winter just glances at Lily with an amused expression, though if she's being honest, she's in a pretty good mood herself. Perhaps not to the same extent as her girlfriend, but definitely better than usual.

"Do I need to tie you to my wrist with a string? You look like you're going to fly away."

Her reward for that is for Lily to turn and face her, hands held behind her back with a mock-pout on her face. It... doesn't last that long, before it breaks into a grin.

"Am I really that obvious?"

Yes, Lily. Yes, you are.

Still, she giggles.

...that alone should send most people running for the hills.

"If you're asking if I want you to tie yourself to me, you can't exactly expect me to refuse, though."

Spotting a familiar face, Lily perks up and waves to her. "Oh, hi there!" You could practically set her on a shore as a lighthouse, she's beaming so brightly. "But yes, I am. No need to waste time, right?"

Winter stopped stuttering! Maybe it was transferred over. Still, she takes a breath - an uneven one, her face still red as a stop sign - and gives a mild, somewhat meek nod. "Aha, yeah... I- I guess you have a point there, so..."

She tries to force a smile and separates her hands. (Lily Tsukuyomi actually twiddles her thumbs. You can't be surprised.) "It's fine, really. You're... right, anyway. The both of us are adults, and we've been in a relationship for awhile now... we have a house, even if we can't live in it..."

Scratching her head a bit, she gives a slight laugh. "Guess I'm... being a bit silly, huh?"

How insidious of her. Marina smiles, glad that she hasn't broken Lily or anything, and gives her a light pat on the shoulder. Lily and Winter have been together for longer, and are older than Marina and Jasmine, so it's certainly not as big a deal as Marina makes of it. "Really. Sex isn't everything in a relationship, not one like that, but, you know... you deserve it. To feel good like that with her, after everything that's happened."

"Heh! Eh... heh..." Lily begins to scurry her way along further into the store at that. It's one thing to not be ashamed of it, it's a whole other thing to talk about it out loud like that. Even if a lot of people might not be able to understand them. Maybe some of them could!

"N- no, it's not, and- well, it's not like I haven't been happy before. It's just, well... turns out I can, in fact, be even happier than that."

Oh thank God, there's the soup.

"A- and, it's... sort of nice, to have that bond even stronger than ever..." She looks back finally, flashing the same smile she'd had before they'd entered the store. "I feel like we can take on anything."

The soup is a good thing. For all the teasing, Marina does want to get home and make Jasmine feel better, and hey, that might entail getting to be 'happy' like Lily is too. That's not the motive - Jasmine's well-being is - but fringe benefits are still benefits, after all. It's hard not to grin at getting Lily to talk openly-ish about her own sex life, but it's far less malicious now at least.

"It feels pretty different now, huh? There's something about it that changes a relationship, or, you know... that's... what people say. For better or worse even." And she's heard lots of people saying that it's for the worse, although in the wrong relationship she'd believe that.

Julien had brought two duffel bags of stuff through the teleporter and had hung them each from a shoulder, half concealed by his folded wings. The problem was, he had to get them to the hotel on foot, and that meant several sets of stairs. Stairs were not made for him to navigate easily, especially climbing down, and there were people around too.

Still, he smiled. "Lily, galu! You look well!"

"Yes, you are," she has to reply, "and no, I can't. I'm glad you're so happy, though... it really makes me feel better about everything."

Shaking her head and looking into the clear blue sky, she smiles. "It's... refreshing, in a way, isn't it?"
