In light of recent events, I think it might be wise for me to test a few items I've obtained over the past few months. Initially, I'd resisted using them until I absolutely had to because they had a limited charge, but now it would seem that I have the charger. I'll be able to reuse them.
[Torin strokes his moustache thoughtfully before continuing.]
Would anyone care to join me in testing a few things? I am not quite sure where would be best to set up--a firing range would be ideal, but possibly a bit too open for our purposes. I don't think this should involve anything too flashy, but...
[He produces his GigaGaburevolver to show off some of what he'll be testing.]
It would still be best if this were tested outdoors.

If you don't mind testing them at night, I have various skills that may be of use in the testing process. They only seem to be active after sunset, however.
[Which is a bit of a relief to him, actually. He has a few hours, when the sun is up and he's not asleep, when he doesn't break things. Might also be making it harder to get used to, though....]

[He hasn't gotten a new job yet, can you tell? Though he's hopeful about an interview he has planned for Monday....]

[Ouch, the giant birdman has a job...]

Perhaps the night after that, actually? I've been invited to Germany, it seems, to meet the mayor and some of the local citizens in that new location over there.
[Look, he actually does have something that needs doing! Amazing.]

[There's the sound of a grin in his voice, despite the fact that beaks don't grin.]
And I must confess, I'm quite curious at this point.

[He chuckles.]
I had to make sure it would count.
[Audio]
Well. Do let me know what your schedule is like, and we can see what it will do, now?
[Audio]
I'll be certain to let you know! And you'll have to tell me how it goes in Europe.

The actual test

He stood aside, a slender figure in dark clothes, giving Torin a nod to indicate that he was prepared for whatever the test might entail. Sudden sounds, bright flashes... all were possibilities he thought he could handle. "Anything untoward" was a possibility, but he was standing clear enough to be safe from it. Probably.

He snaps the "mouth" shut, and the gun shouts "GIGAGABURINCHO! BRAGIGAS!" Torin seems unfazed by that. "Kyoryu Change!"
What happens next just might be a little weird for his two audience members. The gun starts playing music, a sort of electric guitar riff, and Torin just does what feels most natural. He dances. He's hopping around and sort of strumming on the gun as though it were a guitar. As he does so, he feels the hollow sensation of another Echo, but he ignores it. Not now, not while he's busy.
"Fire!" Done with the dance, Torin fires the gun at one of the targets. An energy projection that looks like a toothy brachiosaur head fires out, demolishing the target, and swoops back around to chomp down on Torin. There's a flash of light, and he's suddenly clad in silver spandex and wearing a silver helmet. More memory kicks in, and Torin performs a little bit of air punching--and a snap--before finally striking a pose. "The Radiant Hero! Kyoryu Silver!" Behind him, there's an explosion of silver smoke. If Lyall noticed that smoke had a smell, that smell would be bravery.

He's still trying not to laugh, though his mind is putting those connections together, too.

"That's..." he says, realizing he's grappling with a way to describe, nay, even explain what he's looking at. "It's very impressive, I think."
It's honest, if slightly bewildered.
no subject
And there's a nod of thanks at L's assessment. "Let's see if the rest of it is just as impressive. He pulls out the second battery. "Stand back."
He presses a button on the side of the battery, activating the charge, and puts it into the gun. "GABURINCHO! OVIRAPPOO!" And with that, he takes aim at the target and pulls the trigger.
"VAMOLA! POOOOOOOOOO!" The gun happily continues yelling as a cloud of what can only be described as thick, brownish noxious fart gas is fired in front of Torin. The smell is bad enough that Torin seems to notice it through his helmet, and he takes a step back. No, he wasn't expecting that.

At least the urge to laugh is gone, for now. "What is that-- methane? What could-- what could be the point of that?"
no subject
"Is that what it smells like?" he asks at Lyall's guess of methane. He sounds and looks uncertain, and even a little distressed that he can't observe it himself. He destroyed his own sense of smell a long time ago, so he has the opposite problem as Lyall.
no subject
He looks down at the last pink battery he's holding. "I wonder what this one's going to do."
Unbeknownst to Torin, the drunken bum they'd accidentally scared off earlier had wandered back over to where the targets were...surely nothing could go wrong.

Following Lyall's example, he also stands back a safe distance, still squinting at the targets, silently second-guessing himself.
