There's a sudden hiss of steam and a stab of pain in both his arms - and just like that, both his forearms are gone, with only strange, bloodless stumps in their place. The regeneration is already starting, a steady cloud of steam rising from both injuries, but it's still a disturbing sight. It's an even more disturbing experience, and Alan lets out and alarmed yelp of "What the fuck?!"
