The Dians were pretty darn ecstatic. It was a lovely evening with great friends by their side. So as soon as they heard the doorbell, they raced down to the door.

“Hi buddies!”

”Glad you could make it!”

[Although she's still scarred and bruised and not completely recovered from the ordeal with the bomb, Nice wastes no time in allowing the holiday mood to take over. She's brought a box full of cookies decorated red white and blue that she places on the table and -- she says firmly -- no fireworks. No explosives. None. To be safe. She's got souvenirs from Vegas though, that she shows off with a grin before taking a seat wherever one is offered.

Turning to whoever's sitting closest, she grins. Don't mind the burns on her face.]

You think we'll be able to see the fireworks from here? My siblings and I usually went to the hills when we were kills.

[Miria doesn't seem to particularly mind the burns. Neither does Isaac for that matter, but he's a little busy gesturing excitedly to the food that they set out personally and the cookies the other couple arrived with. They haven't said much about the bottle of wine on the table other than "dig in!"]

Well, I think it depends on the window? We only get a limited view of the sky from here.

[It occurs to Miria that its possible looking out the window might be hard with five people instead of two.]

But we should be able to get up on the roof!

[Jacuzzi has not left Nice's side. He's afraid somebody's going to bump into her. He's decent enough at cooking and stuff but he's been realizing how much more he's been crying and how little it's upset him lately, and the shaking he gets when he cries is a lot is not very productive when he's working over a hot stove.]

I-Is that really safe? I mean--[He shakes his head.] Are we gonna be able to get up there okay?

[Rakka Sat quietly in her seat beside Miria and Isaac. It was safe to say that the Japanese girl was enjoying today a lot more than she thought she would, what with staying with Isaac and Miria. She'd even helped with the cooking.

Unlike the others, the scars Nice had got several worried looks out of Rakka. They certainly looked like it would hurt to get them.]

Uh, I guess it would be safe if the roof was flat. [She looked less than enthusiastic about the whole idea though.] But with all of us, it could be kind of dangerous.

[bombgasmic]

Mmm. If we're going to go on the roof, we might as well just go outside, don't you think?

[She had smiled in response to Rakka's worries, explaining that they didn't hurt. They don't, really. She leans back in her seat now, hand raised to her chin thoughtfully.]

After all, there aren't that many trees on this street.

We can carry out some chairs to make it more comfortable too!

[Here the Dians have started to set out plates and stuff for people to put some food on. They pour a little wine for themselves, leaving plenty for their friends.]

There's a place in the park not really far from here... [He figures if they're going out he can at least help pick a place.]

It might be crowded though... Since it's the holiday...

Oh. The park sounds nice. [She could feed the birds and stuff.] It could be like a picnic.

[Although, what Jacuzzi says following that bring her spirits down a peg.]

Oh, yeah.

Yeah, Jacuzzi's got a point. It'll be really crowded -- but if Isaac and Miria can see the sky from their house, maybe we can see it from their driveway?
