[Emil is only vaguely aware of Russel and Kari’s confrontation. Some people are still coming, but they’re not as relentless as before and the awakening Mazoku blood gives him power, so it’s much easier to shake them off. He wants to do more, to rip them apart limb from limb, but the last shard of human consciousness left in him knows it’s not their fault. They don’t know what they’re doing. But the urge to destroy is so strong, all consuming, he has to inflict it on something. So he starts tearing into the sidewalk with more efficiency than a jackhammer.
It’s not enough. The Mazoku is hungry for more and he can’t fight it, he just can’t. And as the darkness drowns what little was left of Emil the human, he notices a shift in the music. His head snaps up in the direction of the fountain and he sees the boy with the piano. The Mazoku doesn’t recognize him, but he does know this is the person responsible. The reason he’s hurt and afraid.
He grits his teeth. The mob is still around, but he pays them no mind. They’re small fry, nothing but bugs. He can always squash them later. But the boy with the piano dared threatening him, and for that he must die.
He breaks into a sprint. The crowd opens up, people are shoved off by his sheer strength and speed and Emil ends up crashing into the fountain full force.

This really isn’t its day.]
