After managing to fished it out with much difficulty, he called for both the ambulance and told them what happened. He had a hard time describing his location to them because he hadn't been paying enough attention with a berserk car hot on his tail. Thankfully, the window was opened and he described the buildings he saw, so the operator managed pinpoint his location.

Xander was gone longer than he expected. Following his advice, Eugen tried to concentrate thinking about important things so he wouldn't pass out from the pain. His parents, the pastor who was always kind to him, the university and everyone who worked with him, Melissa, Banagher, Neil and everyone else. However, the pain was still too much to bear and he was almost passed out by the time Xander got back to him.
