Xander was partially in pursuit of the car, his main goal was to get ahead of it and prevent more causalities by rescuing those on the street. He knew he couldn't save everyone, but he would try his best. Even if that meant being sore all over from constantly running and throwing himself against his own shadow with another person.

With the revving of the car alerting him of its presence, he spots Eugen on the ground and rushes towards him. He'll have to apologize for the rough treatment of grabbing the other man's arm, forcing him up to his feet while bringing him closer and merging in to the shadows together after the car has passed by. That is if Eugen isn't too freaked out by what just happened.
