[Maria is...confused, and she kind of looks like it. She thinks that's the right word for this. Her thoughts and feelings are kind of muddled on a memory she received when a vermini attacked her on the 12th. She's been thinking about it to herself ever since then, and only now is she turning to the network.]

Okay, so, two things. One, I got a sweet bow! It's cool, guys, like...the design is perfect for me, but that's not the only awesome thing about it. Just yesterday, I forgot I left it in my room 'cause I was going to practice with it, and then it literally appeared in my hands. I thought it was a fluke or maybe my mind was playing tricks on me, but I tested that out. This bow? I can totally summon it from wherever it is. Distance doesn't even matter. Unfortunately, it doesn't work on my quiver, but I'll take it.

[Despite her feelings on the memory, nothing can contain her happiness and excitement over this development. Still...it's not enough to dispel it completely.]

And number two...I got a memory, and I don't know how to...feel about it. I think it's something that explains why I have this bow.

[She runs a hand through her hair, troubled.]

So...this memory. Past me made a vow to the Greek goddess Artemis. I did some research, and that basically means I was a handmaiden to her. And the Oath came with some warnings. Taking it meant that she could only die in combat or if she fell in love. Does that sort of thing...I don't know, carry over? Do I have to follow that same Oath because I took it in a past life?

Unless we get someone who's a Greek goddess, I think you should be good. Focusing on the cooler part, though, I wish my bow did that.

Don't blame you, it's kinda confusing, but I don't know how this whole reincarnation thing works. Especially when this oath says I'll die if I do fall in love, so it's kinda like do I take my chances or should I respect it until I know for sure it won't kill me?

[She's more than happy to not talk about the oath.]

See, it's cool and all, but I wish my quiver would do the same thing. It's awkward carrying around arrows all day, and my high school kind of frowns on weapons being inside the building. Distracts students and teachers.

Maybe you'll get a magic quiver soon? I mean if the bow's magic...

Nah, I don't, which is probably a good thing. I don't even have a crush, so I think I'm safe for the time being!

Either a quiver or magic arrows. From what I read, she used silver arrows made of moonlight, so...since I got a cool magic bow, maybe I'll get silver moon arrows.

[She pauses.]

That sounds like an anime. I hope I'm not turning into a magical girl 'cause I can count on one hand the amount of magical girl shows that are awesome.

for the purpose of this conversation that's good. hope that doesn't turn out to be an actual thing.

We have some people over here in Locke that are turning into magical girls, so....let's hope it's not contagious?

I'm sure if you got a bow, you'll probably be a natural. That's been my experience at least, along with Killians. He's my... practice buddy down at the stables.

[She nods in understanding.] Memories might make things more confusing in the short term, at the very least mine have.

Do you think the bow itself was an effect of the oath, or was the oath something done after you took charge of the bow?

And I didn't think we'd actually get a god, whether indirectly or not.

I would think that an oath shouldn't be carried from one life into another, unless you had also promised that to her as well...

As others have said, unless she turns up to tell you otherwise, I wouldn't worry much about it.

Does the bow disappear if you leave it alone? Or is it still always around?

I don't know why you're worried about it. [He sounded a tad more bitter than he intended to. Nick pauses to fix that before his next comment.] Artemis is basically a fictional character.

[She seconds the weird life since she made an Oath to the goddess of the hunt.]

I'd say that, too, but...dude, I actually saw her. Like, instant recognition that the person I saw was Artemis. She and two other people saw past me do it.

[Maria shrugs a little helplessly.]

Honestly, just two things make me worried about it. One is that I kinda like living, and the other is that I like keeping my word.

God, you and Killian are both making me wanna take a trip to Locke for a little while. You know, for some friendly competition.

[She tilts her head slightly.] Really?

Dude, what would they even call an outbreak like that? Shoujo-itus?

I think that I got the bow because I took the oath. That's just a feeling, though. I don't have any concrete memories on it right now.

Can you imagine a god getting reincarnated like this? It'd take forever for them to remember everything.
