He knows when he drops the word, she would regains her memory. In a way, perhaps he's a little spiteful in doing so without warning but he wants her to understand. Celia needs to know before she hurts herself.
When he heard her offer, he feels conflicted. On one hand, he knows he's her closest friend but sometimes, Eugen feels as if he's being put on a pedestal because of it. That she would center her life around him, clings onto him in ways that might have suggest something else entirely, something deeper than just a friendship. He still remembers her confession (if you could call that a confession) and it bothers him that she might still harbor some sort of romantic ideals over him.
It makes him want to stomp it out sometimes and yet he couldn't bring himself to be cruel to her. He wouldn't mind it if she's not someone he cares about, but he cares for her. He could only hope that with time, she'll find someone she can truly love. And he's fairly sure that someone would never be him.
"Thanks..." He smiles weakly, wondering if she would become angry with him if she founds out that he wouldn't take up her offer when he actually needs someone to talk to. Not because he doesn't trust her but because he knows she wouldn't be able to offer the sort of comfort he wants. Someone who can tell him straight to his face if he screws up or if he's being stupid. Someone who could offer different points of view, one that isn't clouded with a sheltered upbringing. Celia isn't that person. She's who he would protect, someone whom he will go to to offer a shoulder for her to lean on, not the other way around. And it sucks that he can never tell her that.
"I'm not alone... The other pilots are with me, so, don't worry." He reaches over to give her a light pat on her head.
