There have only been a handful of times where Celia has ever seen Eugen get legitimately angry. And of those few times, he has never, not once, ever gotten angry at her.

Celia slowly turns her eyes back down to her coffee. There's not much left in it now, just the faintest remainder of brown lining the bottom of the glass. And for one long moment after Eugen finishes speaking, Celia is silent. She's not sure what to say. Had she been more careful with her words before, she wouldn't have hurt her friend so badly. She needs to carefully consider what to say next.
"I'm sorry," she says, forcing herself to meet his gaze. She really had no idea how hard Eugen had been fighting until now. "I didn't know."
