"It's almost as if the two of us are secret agents. A-new Re-turn-er," she pronounces, drawing out every syllable. "Ti-e-ri-a Er-de."
Celia smiles. "To be honest," she says, briefly pausing to take a sip of her coffee. "I find the idea of a past life a little exciting. I want to know more about the life I lived back then."
There was just so much she wanted to know. What kind of family she had. Where she had studied. How she had become so practiced in so many disciplines. In some ways, Celia idolized Anew.
"Say, Eugen," She looks over at her friend. "Don't you think it's strange? There are seven billion people on this planet, and yet you and I were still able to meet again as friends."
She looks down at her reflection in the remainder of her coffee. It's still muddied, but it's happier now. "I think it has to be a miracle."
