Following the book's tail is John. He's covered in pages - especially on the arms - but has managed to avoid them hitting his face. They seem content trying to hold him up that way.

Which means the book is much faster, but with Alex distracting it he manages to force it to the ground, keeping it shut with his hands. It's struggling against it, of course, but he manages to eventually stand on it. And hopefully that'll keep it.
