[Guess who's face pops up late afternoon on the 24rd? It's none other than Karl! He has a few things to say and a very important discovery to present.]

Many of you no doubt are aware of the pink lights presently in Las Vegas. Whatever this means or what may come about as a result, we must do our best to exert caution. Though we may have defended the city, the destruction of that creature had been the enemy's goal, something it will behoove all of us to remember.

[Some grumbling actually comes in the background, grumbling that sounds like one Melissa Lyre, one VERY UNHAPPY Melissa Lyre. Karl spares a somewhat apologetic glance over his shoulder before continuing.]

Words of wisdom aside, I've another reason for contacting the Network today. Following viewing the lights on TV, I received the ability necessary to test a hypothesis I posed some time ago.

[What great hypothesis might this be? A very important one!! Some very VERY melted plastic gets held up for all the world to see. What it may have been before it met its tragic fate, the world may never know. Actually, it was a plastic container but it definitely no longer serves that purpose.]

Plastic does not, in fact, protect against magic, fire magic in particular. Glass tables are also rather ineffective against it.

[RIP plastic container and another of his tables. Ah well, it was for the sake of science and hypothesis testing! And this hypothesis may have gotten tested right in front of the angry lady grumbling in the background. Really, why is she so upset? It's not as though she's...... afraid of fire. Oh... Whoops. Karl mentally slaps himself at that forgetfulness, a slap practically visible as he ends the connection]

I learned some time ago that my previous self had been far older than humanly possible. Conversing with those possessing immortal qualities might help me recall the details regarding that.

I'll contact them and ask them if they wouldn't mind talking to you. I'm sure I can make a good enough case for it.

Mom and Dad still have a bunch of them--they like to show them to me and my sister sometimes.

[specifically, they like to show the kids VHS tapes of themselves as little children, learning to crawl and take baths and go potty for the very first time. It's incredibly awkward and embarrassing and Danny hates it, but he's seen them enough to know roughly how VHS tapes work.

Which, as far as he's concerned, means he's seen them far too much.]

You misunderstood. I hadn't meant take on the corruption yourself but rather than you can escape it should you wish.

Your parents prefer watching movies on VHS as opposed to DVD?

[Odd, if oddly fitting for them.]

Mostly stuff that you can't get on DVD. We just happen to have a lot of tapes like that.

Why not, if you do not mind my asking?

Mm, more or less, yes.

Then little else remains to be done except to somehow make this force one you happily remain a part of.

You'll excuse me if I don't quite believe it possible.

Given that we've witnessed the city be attacked by a giant pink snake that had been defeated by super powered beings and giant robots, little remains outside the realm of possibility.

[Even a corrupt force going good.]

It's easier to believe in the possibility of absurd things when you've seen them happen before.

I've seen the snake, and the robots. I haven't seen bad cops turn good.

Then we can only hope that you witness this impossibility happen here.

[It's almost odd to say that, some of the oddity possibly shining through in his voice. Having been corrupt for so long, saying it may change just... yeah, feels odd.]
