[open] Axes of the Dwarves! The Dwarves are upon you!

Who: OPEN!!! Anyone and everyone is welcome here, please drop in!
When: March 15th.
Where: The Thorsson backyard.
What: Sparring! Characters who have no weapons yet but want to try out something, or who want to try out new weapons, are welcome as well!
Warnings: Violence.

Imagine that there was a network post asking for people to come to a afternoon of sparring and training/trying to force echoes. There was a specific emphasis in the post for people to not bring powers or firearms into the mix, only all kinds of short range weapons - swords, axes, knives, maces, halberds, anything really. A part of the idea, as was explained, was not only to provide a place to try out different weapons but also to have multiple people use weapons in a small area, allowing for battle echoes.

So the day has come! The place is the backyard of the Thorsson's downtown store/private buildings, a relatively large areal closed off with buildings belonging to the family on all sides.

There are all kinds of weapons - real ones and some larp weapons as well - on a table in a corner of the backyard that cannot be used for sparring since swings, a sandbox and a bench are located there. Protective gear like chainmail and helmets can be found as well. Some refreshments in form of apples, juice boxes and bananas, all in open boxes, have been placed next to them along with water in bottles.

So those that brought no weapons can borrow those proffered, and those that brought their own ones can try out others as well.

"Gil-Galad." It helps to focus on other aspects of the Echo instead of relieving that moment in the battle over and over again. Eventually he begins to feel more steady though he can't shake the profound sorrow. "He was not king in Rivendell, that much I know."

"The Noldor, I believe they are Elves but there are many details I cannot recall still," Eliot said, trying to focus as much as possible. He did know that Gil-Galad was an elf like him, was that the key to his distant past? He is glad that Thorir lead him over to the bench, sitting down carefully but not pulling away. "How Rivendell fits into it, I believe it was a separate place of sorts."

"Perhaps, it would make sense," Eliot said with a thoughtful frown. He does want to know more about his past self but he has a feeling that may take a great deal of time. But talking things out with Thorir helps put what he does remember into some kind of order.

"That is an excellent idea. I would like to know more, and I am sure they will have unique perspectives to echo back," Eliot said gratefully. The intensity of the memory had faded to a point he could handle it better now, though he had a feeling the sorrow would remain for some time.

"I hope for more kinder memories for all of us," Eliot remarked, even if it didn't seem likely, with the general trend of things, considering. "Thank you, though. I think we should probably get back to sparring," he said after a moment with a small smile, he really did appreciate how much Thorir could steady him at times like these.

Eliot stood as Thorir did, already feeling the soreness set in. Despite a job which demanded he was on his feet, he was finding that learning to use the sword was using muscles he didn't know he had.

"That sounds like a plan."
