Who: Jacuzzi Splot, Isaac Dian, and Miria Dian
When: Afternoon, March 2nd
Where: Abandoned Warehouse in the Dead District which looks... vaguely train-car like on the inside.
What: Echo related shenanigans
Since meeting Jacuzzi, the Dians had agreed that it was best to try to decide if they should tell him what they remember about past-him. Which is to say, nothing except that they gave him a big speech once. While encouraging, the couple decided that wasn't exactly an important thing to tell him. They could get around to it eventually. No big rush.
And then they all discovered that Jacuzzi shot up 18 speakeasies in one night.
Which is. A lot.
The couple quickly entered a debate on sharing their information with their pal. On one hand, Jacuzzi was a bit on the shy side, so that speakeasy thing could really mess him up. This new echo might give him the confidence boost he needed! On the other hand, what if this echo messed with him even more so? On the other other hand, was it right to keep this information from him in the first place?
This discussion went on for about a month and a half before the Dians came a conclusion. They trusted their new reincarnation buddy. If they were going to prove their loyalty, they had to be honest with him too.
Clearly the best way to do so was to recreate the echo as best as they can! And so they spent their afternoon dragging Jacuzzi to the Dead District, heading toward one of the abandoned warehouses in the district.
This was a good plan.

"Guys, I don't understand. Why are we here? What's going on?" Seriously why a warehouse. Why the Dead District? It is dangerous here, guys. "I have a test tomorrow in my comp class. I have to study..."
Jacuzzi is kind of whiny.
no subject
"It's a surprise! You'll find out in just a second!"
"That's right! You should have plenty of time for studying as soon as we wrap up here!"
no subject
no subject
"It's all gonna work out great!"
With that, they pull open the warehouse doors and enter the incredibly daunting and foreboding building. With vigor!
no subject
"No I really think this is a bad idea, this isn't a safe part of town...."
no subject
They pat him on the back as they push him forward.
"Relax! This is a great plan!"
The warehouse is... pretty spacious, actually. The metal walls appear to be rusting quite a bit and there are a few empty shipping crates. There's also an abandoned sleeping bag in one of the corners and a few empty cans scattered about. So. Looking totally safe.

"Don't worry! We think this maybe possibly could help you with that!"
They race over to the center to the building and spin around, trying to get a good feel.
"Yeah, this'll work!"
"So you can stand there.." They immediately point to a spot next to the wall. "And we'll stand here!" They point downward at this juncture.

But he's going because he might as well get it over with.

They both remember the memory very well. It was very clear and understandable.
no subject
Sure, they remember the general gist of it. In fact, twenty minutes ago they could recite it from memory. But now, presenting it for the first time, this all seems like a terrible idea. What if it doesn't work unless they do it exactly the same way as before? If they get one word wrong, will nothing happen? Is this place not similar enough to make it work the right way?

Done
They start to flail around a bit in a panic.
no subject
Clearly being a little bit meta and sulking is how to handle this.
no subject
They pop back up and grab the incredibly meta and frequently sulking boy. With the might of a sumo wrestler, they spin him around and direct his attention to the warehouse at large.
"Is this kinda place...."
"Sparking any kind of... memories? At all?"
"Maybe a speech? Of some kind?"
no subject
"What are you guys tryin' to do?! Why would you try to make me remember something like that?! A bounty on my head?! Rescuin' somebody--?!" He shakes his head, stumbling back away from them. "I don't--I don't understand what you're going for here!"
no subject
They tentatively step toward their buddy, eyes filled with fear. Did they mess up? Did they make things worse? OH GOD, they made things worse, didn't they?
"J-jacuzzi?"
"Wha-what's going on? Is it bad?"
no subject
Of course it's bad but... goddamn they're hard to be mad at or upset with or anything. "I turned myself in to a man who kidnapped one of my friends. The Russo family--the family I shot up the speakeasies of--!! I told him to turn me in to them for the bounty!
"I don't understand anything, guys!" He's already crying, unable to hold it back. "Why did you guys want me to remember that?!"
no subject
Struggling to contain their emotions, the couple race toward Jacuzzi and wrap him in a big hug.
"W-we didn't mean to hurt you!"
"We wanted to bring back a good memory that could help cheer things up! B-but..."
"And now you're..."
They start blubbering incoherently.
no subject
And then he just cries more but less from the panic and more because now he just feels like crying.
Yes. Good. Perfect people.
no subject
This goes on for a while until most of their tears have dried up. They both step back a little while still holding on to Jacuzzi.
"I-is there anything we can do?"
no subject
"I-It's not your fault or anything. It's not like--It's not like you guys were the ones who did this stuff! It was me--"
no subject
"But it's not your fault either!"
"You can't blame yourself"
no subject
"I-I'm sorry, guys... What were you actually trying to do?"
no subject
"We just tried to make sure you had a good memory, like some of the stuff we remembered about you!"
"But we messed up and now..."
no subject
"... What did you guys remember about me?" He's honestly curious because from most of what he's gotten, Chicago Jacuzzi was a mess of bad ideas, revenge, rule-breaking and self-sacrifice.
no subject
They tap their chins in thought and in unison.
"Well... you were a really good guy!"
Their faces light up and they start gesturing to Jacuzzi excitedly.
"Exactly! You were like Billy the Kid, a hero to hundreds of people!"
Wait a second...
"You were a little shy, as far as we could tell, but all you really needed was to ride the waves of life!"
"Right! And as long as one person believes in you, you should be able to ride those waves just fine!"
"And you had the two of us believing in you! That proves you were a really good guy!"
They don't make any mental connections between what they're saying now and what they were trying to say earlier. Because they're Isaac and Miria.
no subject
"But I killed people, guys. Good people don't kill people. Even if it's for revenge."
no subject
"Then you're the exception to the rule!"
"You're one of the nicest, most thoughtful, caring people we know!"
"And don't let anyone tell you otherwise!"
no subject
no subject
"Who cares a lot and is super nice!"
"And that's all we need to know!"
"Other than your birthday or what you want for Christmas and so on!"
no subject
"I-I really think you've got me wrong. I-I'm just a kid who can't even pass community college classes without a doctor's note. And I'm reincarnated from a guy who had at least three people killed, if not more!" He shakes his head.
"You shouldn't--you shouldn't worry about somebody like me. I'm just a nobody, it's okay!!"
no subject
"And with the network by your side, you can make lots and lots of friends and acquaintances!"
"And those people can help you study for community college!"
"And we can help you with that horrible past self part!"
"So we'll just keep worrying about you! Gotcha!"
no subject
no subject
"Ah, but it took nineteen years for you made it this far!"
"So with us by your side, it'll be even easier and quicker to get wherever you may go!"
"Got it?"
no subject
no subject
"Trust us, buddy! It's all gonna be smooth sailing from here on out!"
no subject
no subject
"It usually is!"
"With pals by your side, there's no way we can lose!"
no subject
"G-guys I'm--guys, you're really close..."
no subject
"That's right, buddy! The closest!"
