According to a post titled FAQ three-point-oh, anything can be a pulse, or echo. Apparently concepts can also be echoes, like, say, a way to end the world. A world, anyway, because I believe the agenda here is to save the one we're on right now? Or at least keep unwanted conquerors off the metaphorical lawn.

[Yeah, someone's read through the FAQ and a bunch of other posts before making his own. But for someone who's just had his world turned around and has stumbled on something really strange, and apparently has just gotten info on how one can end the world, he sounds pretty casual about the whole mess.

Spoilers: he's just pretending to be casual. Good thing he hasn't turned on his webcam because he's frowning.]

Which obviously means something I had gained back then was likely a piece of knowledge from a previous life, and it's not my imagination running away from me. [And that's news to him. Consider his interest piqued, despite all his questions of what kind of person he was back then to know such things.]

Ah, where are my manners. Cam, at your service. Actual service... hmm, I suppose you can say some medical knowledge but without proper training is something.

No problem. I would say "enjoy" but then again, much of these echoes have too little context to make it an enjoyable read. Informative though, that's what it is.

Gives you an idea of what to expect if not from yourself, then from the others in the network, at least.

Or helps you get an idea of what may come to you. Knowledge of places, people, items, even bodily changes. At the very least, if either one of us should change eye or hair color, people will have seen stranger.

Ah, but see, I'm not willing to give up my arms. How would I work without them? Easier to just give up the other leg. Or you know, run.

It seems to me that if the world ends, there wouldn't really be left a place to run to.

There's a good number of people in this city who are convinced that it will, soon. Even if it failed to do so two years ago.

Really? My mother comes from this area, but she decided to stay with father instead of traveling between the two countries. Her clan is all over around here. [he has a few cousins that stayed here but the rest is scattered around America and he really hasn't talked to a lot of them since he always been the wild child of the family.]

I've stayed in Kyoto for a while before I took off for Australia. I had fun there. What part are they in? Mebbe I ran into some of them.

They're all over the place, but the parents themselves are from Kamigyo-ku. Mother would sometimes talk about her siblings going to the tea ceremony schools there, but she personally didn't want to.

It's not a need-- just a fragment of the knowledge of how to do it. If I had the need, I probably wouldn't even announce it, really.
