[closed] daddy loves you son

Who: Karl Aurion, Lloyd Irving
When: 2/3/14
Where: Near Bullets shooting range
What: A son finds out that the reason his dad hasn't told him he's his dad? Is because said dad has no idea.

[Sometimes people really get dealt a bad hand in life and need a little help. Karl happens to be more than willing to give such help if it seems necessary. Whether it be doing a task or giving out money, giving a little to brighten another's day feels worth it. Some people back home (the wealthy asshole kind) would argue and call this habit a bad one. Luckily enough, those are the same people Karl always ignored and carried on with whatever helping act he'd been in the middle of.

The same thing continued here in Locke City and is actually what Karl's in the middle of right now. It had happened a few months ago, that time when he saved a homeless man from teenagers and given him a jacket. Since then, they've spoken fairly frequently. Apparently the man had lost his job some time ago, after which his wife divorced him and kicked him out of the house. A very unlucky hand, indeed. The more they spoke, the more Karl noticed how bright this man was and how extreme this sort of a fate seemed.

This is why he looked around a bit and, after a couple weeks of hunting, found a pretty good job for the guy. Nothing fancy, but more than enough to get him back on his feet. Now, just outside of Bullets, Karl hands him the business card.]

It may not be much, only secretarial work, but the pay is good and the employer is a decent person.

[Surprise crosses the man's face as he takes the card and gapes at it, almost if unsure if it's actually real.]

...You seriously went around and asked for a job for me? Why?

[Because why not? A corrupt cop can at least do a little good.]

Sometimes people need a little help in order to move forward. Besides, anyone who takes good care of a stranger's jacket is more than deserving of a job.

[Yes, Karl, why? Why did you have to bring up something like that when the kid who was working on painting a clear picture of you for the last month was close enough to witness it?

Lloyd wasn't completely sure why he'd decided to walk near the shooting range today. He had just assumed he wasn't going to run into the person who'd been giving him so much confusion lately. He wanted to be angry with him, he really did, but the more he saw, the more confused he felt.

He took a few steps toward the man, but stopped when he was still a few yards away and just stared at him for a few seconds while he tried to find words.

...What's your deal?!
