[At first the camera doesn't show Fay, since he hovers out of view for a moment, to the left judging by his voice.]

Ah, so... Something a bit unpleasant happened a while ago while I was helping out a friend here on the network. That is to say, not in the actual helping out - though it got a bit dramatic there for a moment - but I got another of those pulse-thingies back.

[An off-screen sigh, and then Fay sits down in front of the camera. Notice anything different? Well, probably if you've ever seen him before. He's wearing some cloth over his left eye.]

Or rather, one of those pulse-thingies took something from me. My eye, to be precise.

[He's still smiling, but it's clearly more a reflex than anything, because he certainly doesn't look happy.]

The vampire thing seems to compensate a bit for the loss, but I'm still not jumping for joy, you know? I should've expected it, considering I remember someone eating it, but... well, it's not the sort of thing you can prepare for.

So I'm just wondering... I mean, the whole point with these things has seemed to me that we're still supposed to get things we didn't have before, not... lose things that are kind of useful to have, right? So has this happened to anyone else?

[He relaxes a little bit, now that he's finally sure that she has to be the Sakura he remembers ~~and doesn't know he'll be proven both wrong and right at the same time.~~]

Mm, it seems to be happening a lot now that more Numbers people are turning up - to some more than others. So now I'm wondering if eventually all the people from our memories will turn up. [Not that he particularily wants, say, the person who ate his eye to turn up. And speaking of him...]

Ah, Ethan? I think... I might've exchanged a few words with someone with that name on the Network, but it was all in text. But is he someone you remember too, then?

I thought it was a dream I was remembering but now I'm positive it's a yes. We go to the same middle school. [She's excited, this could end up helping everyone out, right?]

Was there magic in your memories? I started to think I was a witch or something like that.

Really? Well, that's good. That way, you can both keep an eye on each other, right?

[He hesitates for a moment there, but then nods and smiles.]

Yes, I definitely think there was magic where I was from. I- Well, I think that maybe I had some kind of magic too. [Terrible black stuff flowing out of him and tearing everything apart, but lets not think about that right now.] Oh, and I remember a floating castle, and well, Youou can do some magicky things too.

A floating castle? It all sounds so exciting!

[She's not gotten any memories back that should scare her, so she still sees everything very much in a childlike fashion, her excitement is bright on her face, the image jostling as she goes to pull out that notebook she had started with Jamie and starts to write stuff down.]

I hope I can meet Youou some day!

Mmm, it was very beautiful - it's a pity we can't share these memories with others here somehow.

[Beautiful, but also inexplicably sad, as if nothing would ever be as beautiful again when you turned away from the castle - or maybe as if there was a falseness in that beauty somehow.]

[He doesn't have the heart to say anything that would dampen her enthusiasm, though he does hope that if she starts remembering more bad things, it won't be too painful for her.]

And I'm certain he'll want to talk to you too. I think... Well, from what I understand, he's got a memory of you too.

Oh.. really? [She'd looked down from the phone for just a second to check what she'd written down before she was looking back up with a smile.]

I wonder if I'll get memories of you two soon. Oh! I haven't told you. I've gotten a lot of items back recently.

Well, you probably will. That's how these things seem to work. [And he supposes it makes sense that some people are not quite so important to you that just seeing them will trigger memories. Which is... still strange, because he has a feeling that Sakura was incredibly important to the past version of him, but he'll leave it at that right now.]

Really? I've only gotten two so far. Well, one set of clothes and one book which is probably magical. What did you get?

A tarot card, a pink wand and a yellow dress complete with accessories.

[Can you see why she'd think she was a witch?]

Nothing too helpful unfortunately. I can't figure out what to do with the wand and the card just sits there. The dress is cute though.

Mmm, well, I don't know. Maybe it's not helpful now, but once you remember what to do with them it might be different, right? I mean, I got the book first, but I didn't remember what it actually did until a while later - for all the good it does, since what it does is pretty creepy.

[He grins.]

The clothes I got are pretty old-fashioned, but rather fancy, I'll give 'em that.

[The idea of a creepy book gets a curious look now that she's gotten more on the 'Clow Cards' from Kero.]

How big is the book? I got a memory of Kero explaining about a book and some really bad thing that would happen if I didn't get all the cards that went into them.

[Is it the same book? Maybe?]

Ah, it's... [He scrambles off camera for a moment, and comes back gingerly holding a fairly average-sized leatherbound book with a simple design on the cover.]

It looks like this. I don't remember anything about cards, and I'm not sure how anything would fit inside it, though. From what I understand about this book, it looks like a completely normal book, only with blank pages, and then it... records your memories somehow.

[Tilting her head, she peers at the book before shaking it.]

That's not it, it's the right size though. Of course with magic, I bet there's a million different ones.

[The fact it records memories is interesting, and seems a lot less harmful than the one they've been worrying about.] Has it recorded any of your memories recently?

Oh yes. I know for a fact that this one came from a library with thousands and thousands of books - I got this memory of a great big magic library along with this thing.

[He grimaces slightly, shaking his head.] And I ain't sure. From what I remember about this, it records all the memories of the first person who looks into it, see? Their entire life. And the next person who picks it up can see it all by turning the pages. That's a bit invasive, so I haven't tried it out.

[Holly's a pretty nice kid, but she can still understand that having everything about you in a book that someone just needs to pick up and accidentally flip through to read? That's a little too much for even her.]

I can understand why you wouldn't want to. Just be careful with it. It might have some evil catch like a promise to a fairy or something. [She'd been researching a lot on witches and supernatural things and had learned through that research that a lot of the nice things weren't actually that nice.]

Has Youou gotten anything back like that?

[Yes, for all that Fay can be pretty open about his life with pretty much any passing stranger, there are some moments he still doesn't want anyone else to see or share. And since he was the first to look in that book, before he knew what it did...]

I'm keeping it locked up. And don't worry, if I see any sneaky fairies, I'm smacking them with a rolled-up newspaper. [He grins, shrugging, although he makes a little awkward noise at the next question.]

The only thing he's gotten is a... collar. Like a dog's collar, you know? Kind of weird. [A collar which is clearly fitted for Youou to wear and looks like some kind of fetish accessorie, but nope, nevermind that part.]

A collar? I wonder if it was Keros. [She frowns at that.] Kero could turn into a big lion, but without a mane. Do you think it could fit him?

[It might be a testament to her thought processes that she hasn't even considered it could be fore a human.]
