January 16, Thursday [Closed]
Who: Lazarus Lawliet and Belle Goldman
What: L got evicted from his apartment on New Year's day. His therapist is overstepping her professional boundaries and putting him up in her apartment's spare room until he catches up on his rent.
When: January 16, Thursday
Where: Belle's apartment
Warnings: Don't think so
Even though it was a fairly enormous breach in the therapist-patient relationship, Belle's soft heart had won out when it came to one of her bleakest cases. Rather than allow L to continue renting a bed at the local YMCA, she had offered him her spare room on a temporary basis.
Just how temporary the basis was going to be was up in the air, though. In the spare room previously occupied by Belle's mother, L was getting decently comfortable... enough, at least, to decide that he could go through the full closets in search of something resembling curtains.
He found a pair of tasteful, patterned ones fairly easily after unpacking several boxes of sheets, knick-knacks, and personal affects that had belonged to the room's prior resident, but hanging them proved to be a problem. They caught on the rod, and tugging at them only caused an ominous ripping sound. He settled for bunching them up unevenly, realizing too late that some of the rings had been missed and leaving it. It was ultimately good enough for day-sleeping, which, after spending an entire night staring at a blank word document, was almost preferable.
Hugging his police radio close, he buried himself in the sloppy nest of blankets and started to drift off.
