Who: Alexander Varista and Nick Burkhardt
Where: Outside of town
When: December 18th, after dark
What: Nick finally tracks down Alex's body
Warnings: temporary death, blood drinking
It'd taken him way too long to get word from Sherman on what'd happened to Alex. He should have hounded him until he got an answer immediately, he shouldn't have left in the first place, no matter that he had no excuse to stay when they'd gotten a lead in a case he'd been working for a year. They'd caught the guy and saved his latest victim, but at the moment, it wasn't very much consolation.
He hadn't told anyone what'd happened, not beyond 'things didn't go as planned with the last guy I arrested, I don't know exactly where he is, I don't know if he's okay, and I have to go find him.' Nick'd had to tell a few people something, after all, since it was obvious he was stressed out and worried more than usual to those who knew him will.
Right now, he was pretty much operating on the somewhat vague hope that as long as there was a body, as long as it hadn't dissolved into dust or whatever, Alex could still get brought back. That was how it worked with vampires, right? It was a longshot, maybe, but he was clinging to it.
At least tonight, after a while of searching, he'd finally found the place Sherman'd dumped Alex's body. Now he just had to get him up and out of there.
