[It's Christmas time, so, really, should anyone be surprised when the video feed opens and there's Arthur wearing a Santa suit?]

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY HOLIDAYS, EVERYONE!

[Why, yes, Arthur appears to be very excited. Far too excited, indeed.]

I just wanted to let you all know that I've got a part-time job for the holidays!

[Does anyone really need to guess what that job is?]

I'm going to be Santa's helper over at [insert name of a shopping mall that is not the one Arthur got thrown out of for jumping in a fountain]! And I'm also going to be visiting the hospital throughout the season! Got to spread that holiday cheer to everyone who might have gotten hurt in the quake, you know?

So it's Christmas at the mall, and of course the mall has a Santa Claus at its service! Arthur's a part-time sort of Santa, and while he won't be found while kids are going to and from school, he can be found in the late mornings, early afternoons, and sometimes later in the evening.

Throughout the holiday season, the mall will be subjected to the loudest round of "HO, HO, HO!" it's ever gotten from a mall Santa, and the Santa himself is probably the biggest they've had on top of that. Arthur's still ripped from that one fortunate Echo, though he's stuffed a few pillows into the suit to give himself an appropriate amount of Santa padding.

Most of the time, he's in the Santa's Workshop part of the mall, sitting in the sleigh among the fake snow and photographers dressed as elves. But he can occasionally be found throughout the rest of the mall, walking around, waving at people, and generally having a good time pretending to be Santa Claus.

Despite being in a tizzy over the network, and the state of things after the earthquake, Marina isn't avoiding the mall - normally she goes with her friends, but of course, she has to buy them Christmas gifts.

She saw and ignored Arthur's message - he seemed like an enormous dork - but it's hard not to notice the loud, buff Santa all the same, and she stops to stare for a moment at the crazy guy.

Bakura had just skimmed past Arthur's post, not really in the mood for the man at the moment, but the sound of the near earth shaking "Ho, ho, ho!" made him turn, eyes wide.

...there was no way that--

Wait, no, who was he kidding, he utterly should have expected this. The more important question was if he could get out of the way before he was spotted...

Arthur is pretty used to being stared at, though he's assuming it's because he's SANTA. He gives Marina a cheerful smile and a wave. "MERRY CHRISTMAS!"

Looking a little confused she waves back. "Uh. Merry Christmas sir?"

Unfortunately for Bakura, Arthur both spotted and recognized him. There would be no easy escape. "HO, HO, HO!" And Arthur, despite his size, was pretty fast. "And what do you want for Christmas, young man?"

...oh god, he was in character. Of course he was in character.

"Pretty sure I'm on your 'naughty' list, so I'll be skipping that whole present thing, thanks..." Bakura pointed out, trying to inch away.

"And what might YOU want for Christmas?" Somewhere, Santa's elves were really regretting having to keep an eye on him, because he probably needed to get his butt back in the sleigh to be asking kids--or ANYONE--that.

Even better, he was being paid to be in character.

"But ADMITTING you're on the Naughty list is the first way to get onto the Nice list!" No, there was no escaping him that easily.

"To avoid strange men?" Really if she wrote a list it would be pretty long but this seemed like a start.

Oh my god, it is.

Jamie has seen the video over the network of his school bus driver (who apparently is the fish guy) in a Santa's outfit.. claiming he will be the Santa at the mall but Jamie didn't actually believe he would...

"Mr. Curry?" he's embarrassed.. but Jamie's used to being picked on. He can't help but think the dead of playing Santa is kind of nice for children younger than him. The only people that get Jamie's wrath are over the internet or around his age. Speaking of children, there are a few of them around.. some of them giving Jamie's response a funny look. Mr. Curry? Oh-- he's kind of ruining the magic here, "I-I mean, Santa..?"

"How the hell does that work?" Bakura demanded, still trying to subtly get out of range.

"Hmm...I'm not sure how Santa can help with THAT! Maybe some pepper spray in your stocking?"

Arthur, meet the point. You have missed it entirely.

"Maybe by helping me avoid giant, buff elves." Or whatever he was pretending to be! Though pepper spray wouldn't hurt.

Arthur, to his credit, was in-character enough that he didn't turn at the sound of his name. But he did whenever Jamie called him Santa. "Ho, ho, ho! Hello there, Jamie!" The wink that went with that at least tried to let Jamie know that Arthur wasn't that far gone into character ~~like anyone would notice a difference~~. And if the other kids heard him knowing Jamie's name, well, that was what Santa was supposed to do, after all. "What brings you here to Santa's Workshop?"

His cheeks are flushed in embarrassment, oh jeez.. He hasn't gone to see 'Santa' since fifth grade (he was a late believer, okay?) On top of all of it the 'fat man in the suit' is Mr. Curry-- his bus driver, the talky fishy guy. "Hi.. ah, I saw you from over there and now I'm here." Jamie doesn't really know where he was going to take this conversation but here they are. Mostly Jamie came over because he knew who was behind the beard.. and theres a pet store in the mall with some fish he'd love to watch the older man talk too (it's really cool..)

"Ah, so you granting Christmas wishes." He looks back at the forming line to see Santa. "That's a real nice thing to do.. I haven't seen San-- you in almost three years." You make that small talk Jamie, you fight, you win!

"It's like admitting you have a problem! The sort of problem that gets you on the Naughty List! And admitting that problem is the first step to fixing it!" Nope, Arthur still hasn't caught the hint and is following along.

"No, no it's not," Bakura returned bluntly. "Being an unrepentant jerk off who admits that he's an utter jerk off doesn't make me any better than any other jerk off, got it?"

"Giant, buff elves! Outrageous! I'll keep an eye out for those!" At least he was earnest in his ability to miss the point; he didn't seem to be doing it just to be a jerk.

"I..." What? "No. I mean you. I've been talking about you." SOME PEOPLE JUST NEED TO BE SPOKEN TO VERY CLEARLY.

WELL YEAH I SUPPOSE SO BUT THE SONGS ARE A LOT OF FUN VERY OUTRAGEOUSLY AND ROUSINGLY SO

If Arthur knew that Jamie wanted to talk to the fish in the pet store, he would have taken the boy over there immediately following his shift. But for now? He was all in character. "Well, there's no shame in coming back, even after so long!" He gave Jamie a big grin. "Granting Christmas wishes is my job--what do you want for Christmas?"
