This echo is giving me unwanted emotions I don't understand so here's a shot in the dark. Does anyone know anything of...uh, well there were quite a few people in the same, Japanese style clothing, they must have been uniforms since the only other explanation for that would be some kind of cult and I'm pretty sure I wasn't in a cult. I don't want to be in a cult. Anyway, all black, those pleated pants. I googled it, they're called hakama? I...fought a girl, all around small she was short and slim hair in a bun, with a strangely shaped sword. I guess on behalf of a man - with some kind of white coat? His face was creepy, I don't quite know how to describe it.

So if any of these things sound familiar to you, anything you can tell me would be great, I'm entirely in the dark here and feeling this badly when I'm not entirely sure why I should isn't a good time.

[Blink. Blink. Okay, woah.]

[Video normally isn't his thing on the network, but now Izuru will see a rather familiar-looking outfit laid out on a little bed. Complete with a white coat.] The uniform. It's like this?

[It takes a few minutes for him to reply as he moves from his phone to his computer to get a better look.]

...That's pretty much exactly it.

[He lets out a breath. It's only been recently he's been putting together than he's not the only one from his particular past, here.] Well, if nothing else, I can say with a good amount of confidence that it's not a cult. It's a military.

[He nods, chewing his lip as he thinks.]

That sounds about right. With so many people in uniform and swords, I was wondering if it was some sort of samurai-type group.

Yeah, I've got that, too. [And the skill to use it.]

And not ordinary samurai, either. [Because whoops, the powers thing.]

...How so?

[He did see Tobiume's power in the echo, but...he really just waved it off as something else. Swords shooting strange exploding light isn't exactly a simple conclusion to draw, even when that's what you're seeing.]

Well unless ordinary samurai are cryokinetic and can move at speeds that look like teleporting to regular people, I'd say it's pretty damn different. [Or have voices in their heads, but beyond his initial question a few weeks ago, he doesn't talk about that one much.]

Then that wasn't just my mind playing tricks on me. It's like some kind of fantasy story.

[He runs a hand through his hair, sighing.]

Do you recognise either of those people, then?

I dunno. [Vague descriptions are vague.] You said the girl's sword was weirdly shaped. How, exactly? Mine just looks normal.

Uh...it had the normal shape, and then something else coming off of it. I think two or three of them...sort of in an 'L' shape.

Emotions?

[This is the first time that she hears about emotions not directed at echoes, but echoed emotions... if that is what he is talking about. If so, that sounds very troublesome and she will need to find a way to prepare for the worst of cases, if that happens to her.]

Yes. If you haven't had that yet, consider yourself lucky.

It's at least not visible to outsiders.

[But on the flip side you can't really trust yourself anymore... Hm.]

That's true. But experiencing heavy emotion for an entirely unknown reason, or over something you have little information on could even be dangerous.

Did you at least know that it was an echo?

You didn't specify the kinds of emotions you didn't want.

Given that it came along with the memory, yes. If it had come on its own, I'm not so sure it would be so easy to realise.

The memory made me feel extremely guilty. When it hit me, I felt like I wanted to die. Generally that sort isn't very well-desired.

Have you tried rationalizing it? All regret is technically a waste, since you can't change what happened in the past.

It isn't necessarily regret, somehow. But yes, of course I have.

And it still persists?

Yes. I can't shake it.

As long as you think it was your fault, you probably won't be able to.

I'm not entirely sure what exactly is supposedly my fault, though. Fighting the girl must have been it, but...to warrant such great guilt...

[Oops, hollowed heartbeat feeling. One moment please.

[Okay. We're back. And there's a shift in Toushirou's demeanour. Markedly darker, more suspicious.] Did you hurt her?
