[The feed begins on video, but for some reason… Nothing is there. Is something wrong with the network…?

After a second, a cat hesitantly approaches the “camera”, sniffing at it and lifting a paw in the air, tentatively batting at it. It’s only when the paw actually hits the “camera” that she bolts away again, this time taking even longer to come back. If your character is still watching at this point, they’ll get to see her staring curiously at the screen for a bit longer. Surely this cat can’t actually be…?]

What is this thing? And why are there so many people inside?

[…All said in the voice of a young teenage girl. Having apparently forgotten her fear entirely, she leans down to press her nose against the “camera”, clearly trying to investigate all the secrets it holds.]

What? What do you mean pe--

[There is a woman's voice off camera, somewhat familiar despite also being quite new. A face comes into focus, and at first she appears to be smiling, focusing down on the cat. Until she realizes what's going on however.

No, she couldn't have figured out how to use her tablet. She couldn't have somehow turned on the network. The dawning realization is quite apparent on the young woman's face as she quickly looks at her cat.

This definitely wasn't how she intended to have this happen.]

Mimi, what did you do?

I pushed it some times! And then there were people inside!

[Mimi places a paw on it as she beams at Elly, clearly quite proud of herself. Look! She did a thing!]

[There's a very audible groan as she picks the cat up, pokes the screen a few times, and sighs.]

Um. My cat just started talking yesterday, and I don't know why. Um, I guess she's one of us now? Maybe?

[She'll endeavor not to look too intrigued at the sight of the cat reacting to whatever screen it is she's using - certainly has been a while, however! Ears flick and head tilts up a bit; whinnies with a quality that's either cheerful or smug.]

[... Yep, that sure is a talking cat. He's read enough to know that there's supposed to be a talking animal or two on here, though actually seeing it is a bit different.

[Such a cute little thing, too. Seems rude not to answer her. Jeffrey would normally default to text, but that might be impolite since just because the cat can talk doesn't necessarily mean she can read. Or was it more impolite to assume she can't read because she's a cat? There's no code of etiquette for this.

[Just talk, Jeffrey. It's Elly's cat, and you've met Elly. Talking shouldn't be such a big deal.]

[But she doesn't see anybody! Or even smell anybody! What is this and why is this happening?!]

It doesn't seem unusual for that to be the case at all to me.

Why would only humans reincarnate if, in past lives, there were exceptional cats or the like?

I mean, in ancient Egypt there were apparently cat gods, so...

[She gives the cat a pet, then looks at the camera with a look that says "Save me."]

[Partly playful and partly turnaround of sorts - one of the old cats didn't seem particularly used to horses, either, and silly her for that not to strike her.]

It's as much of a surprise to me as it is to you. She just started last night.

It means that my cat can have free reign over the apartment and I don't have to worry about her blowing her own cover. Also, she seems to like Sierra well enough. Doesn't care for Sara. [Who could blame her.]

I don't think so. She said she lurked for a while, so I'm not sure how long she's been around. Longer than us, for sure.

[Reimu looks curious, but not really that surprised at the talking cat on the network. With all the other weird things she'd seen since showing up in this town, this isn't surprising at all, really.]

Since we already have a talking horse, a talking cat isn't really that surprising at all.

[She actually smiles a little at Mimi too. Cats are a bit of a mixed bag, but she generally likes animals.]

[Miiko just kind of stares blankly before turning her head up towards Elly's.]

[Suddenly, the excitement stops and instead there is a cat glaring silently at you from Elly's end.
