Nick's torn between reluctance to admit that it isn't just a drug dog, and relief that the guy'd figured out there was a lot more at stake here than just getting busted for drugs.

He's leaning a lot more towards relief, now that he isn't getting shouted at.

"'Fuck' is a pretty accurate summary, yeah." Nick's voice has been at conversational levels for the most part, but now he lowers it, just barely. An extra precaution, though he knows they can't be within earshot of the other cop.
