Exponentially harder, and more expensive. I've done a little bit of very basic 3D stuff to make 3D printed parts for drone controls systems, and that didn't have to look pretty, realistic, or good, it just had to be the right shape. There's a reason CGI effects in movies cost millions of dollars.
