[Luke got himself a little hand mirror this time around. The picture it shows is mostly filled with a worried sort of frown, although around the edges of the boy's face a reasonably sized, fairly unkempt room can be seen.

Initially, Luke's wearing a tight fitting blue knit cap, tied securely under his chin. His bangs stick out awkwardly, and he keeps adjusting the sides gingerly. He sits back against his bed, and clears his throat a little.]

So um. After Halloween I had these- [He tugs out the bow under his chin, and takes the hat off. As soon as he does the points of his now significantly elongated ears spring forward, resuming their natural 45 degree angle with his face.] I can wear the hat over them an stuff, but it kind of hurts when I do it for too long, and it's weird that I wear it on inside all the time. Does anyone know what else to do?

You remember living in a tree you mean? ...Not that you live in a tree now, right? You must have been a forest elf then, those dudes live in trees. I don't remember blonde being a standard color though you'll probably go brunette.

[He feels so childish. He remembers living in a tree. It's important to keep thinking about all this that way. Even with his new ears, his new proof, he didn't actually do any of that other stuff. He nods his head in a bit of embarrassment, quickly correcting himself.]

R-right. I live in a house.

[With the comment on his hair thankfully moving the conversation along, he brushes his fingers through his bangs, eyes straining up to try and get a look at his own hair. He tries to remember what the other elves had looked like, and only one face really comes to mind.]

You think? Maybe it'll turn green.

Just saying if you live in a tree we can't play video games and I can't get wifi so you'd totally be coming to my house. Understand? Humm, yeah maybe!! Green is totally one of the colors in the more lively themed stuff.

[Luke imagines his tree home in Kokiri forest with a satellite dish and wires coming out of it and he can't help but giggle.]

Okay.

[The video feed is filled with another one of Luke's trademarked Awkward Silent Looks before he proceeds with the conversation.]

...So what's your name?

Huh? Oh yeah, my name is Jamie. But, hey, you can even call me Jean if you like. I want to make that my new internet handle, sweetjeans!

[Luke had kind of assumed the person talking to him was a boy, but he mentally corrects himself when he sees her name. He's glad he thought to ask, it would have been awkward if he met her in real life and was expecting a boy.]

Was Jean your name from your memory-life-thing?

[Luke hasn't seen or heard anyone going by a different name after receiving an echo, but he's been more and more tempted to try it out himself.]

Yeah, my name is Jamie but Jean is way cooler. It was my past life guys name. Totally more manly, Jean, that's so more a boys name than Jamie. My mom called me Jamie because she thought I was going to be a girl.... Not that Jamie is a name only for girls.

[Okay now he just looks confused.]

...

[Like really confused. He rereads the thing, sort of squinting.]

But. Jean is a girl's name too?

[How dare you?! Jean is not girly in the slightest, do you think he's a girl? Jamie's going to have none of that, prepare for a video message over skype.]

JEAN IS NOT A GIRLS NAME, it's totally for boys!! Do I look like a girl? Jamies a boys name too, because I'm a boy NOT A GIRL.

[Go easy on him the only 'Jean' he knows is ~~not actually Jean Grey but her STE expy person~~ the leading lady from the Y MEN movies. And she's definitely not a boy.

Luke sort of shrinks when the video comes on. Oh no he messed up. Jean's all mad he messed up oh no. But it's still weird because he's just saying not true things now and that is weird.]

Sorry, sorry, you're not a girl.

[Big bug eyed blank stare. If you look deep into his eyes you can almost see the thought But Jean and Jamie are definitely girl names.]

[Jamies got a big fat blush over his cheeks--hump! He's not a girl, damn it. Just because he likes to play as the girl doesn't make him one!!]

Yeah, now you can see.
[His tone is anything but violante, perhaps more snarky. He pouts more than yells...] Jamie and Jean are just as boyish as Luke, totally.. [He scratches the back of his neck.]

[At that Luke makes a sort of noncommittal little hm noise. And decides to change the subject.]

My name as an elf was Link.

LINK?! Link isn't even a real name and you're getting on mine for being girly?
[Pfff- he crosses his arms at you, good sir.]

[Luke averts his gaze for a moment before he thinks of something. His head perks back up and he shrugs at ~~Jeanie~~ ~~Jane~~ Jamie, imitating a bit of his pout.]

Well, it's not a human name. But it could be an elf name.

Whatever, I guess you're right. Elves got weird names....
We're going to have to do some serious gaming research if that's the case. Link... like, does it mean something? Like maybe a link between something. Or maybe you're one of those computer helper things like Clippy. You're the hyperlink helper named Like!

[Link's head tilts to the side and his eyes drift up and to the right as he thinks back over everything he remembers about the Kokiri. Being a Link between something rang a bell for some reason, but he just couldn't put his finger on it.]

...Well. I'm the only one that could leave the forest without dying?

Well that doesn't have anything to do with a computer now does it-- jeez. Why you gotta dismiss my ideas, huh? [Not that, you know, facts should get in the way of Jamie's ideas.]

That sounds pretty spooky, kid.
