Arianna wasn't really sure when to expect Lani to show up but she was pretty darn glad she was coming at all. As if everything else wasn't bad enough, in the last week or so she'd been plagued by headaches and mood swings; she'd taken a couple of days off work at the end of the week and found herself almost immediately improved, only to find that going out at the weekend had made it flare up again. Now she was not only irritated, but rather bored, and company – vertebrate, sapient company – would make a pleasant change from staying in trying to work on Gentleman of Fortune.

She was feeding Bonny when the bell rang. She set the box of crickets down and closed the tarantula's terrarium so that she could let Lani in – if it was Lani, anyway. No other visitors were due, but she couldn't help half expecting to see a swarm of mutant rats...

Lani was indeed standing on the doorstep when Arianna opened the door, clad in casual clothes. Sometimes she had a LCPD hat or jacket that she would wear, but she'd been decidedly not donning those since her introduction to the network.

She gave Arianna a mildly-amused-masquerading-as-mildly-annoyed Look almost first thing. She still couldn't believe that her friend had kept this from her--not considering the novels that Ari scribes for her and deposits into her personal Inbox.

"I really ought to give you a good punch, you know." Hello to you, too.

"I don't know what you mean," said Arianna pleasantly, ushering her in. For her own part she's dressed like she hasn't been out since yesterday – a bit less neat and put together than she usually presents herself, but that shouldn't come as much of a surprise to Lani. "If you ask me you needed the shock."
