Anyone recognize this thing?

Alternately, any tech guys who want to poke at it and figure out how it works?

It has got to be your day off by now, you've been on the past week solid.

It's not like this place runs itself.

[And it's not like Hajime's throwing himself into his work in an attempt to distract himself from the stress that is the network or anything.]

Not like you're the only person working there either.

This makes what, 8 days in a row? Or are you avoiding me?

I'm not avoiding you. We've just been really busy after that film crew came through last week. You can come by and see for yourself.

And then you're going on break because this is ridiculous and I have shit to show you.

[[15 minutes later there's a familiar face entering the restaurant...]]

[The restaurant's busy, but given the amount of staff on hand, it's more than manageable. Hajime's dad is even working behind the register, so it's not like there's a lack of senior staff to go around. Hajime gives Bakura a wave as he finishes depositing drinks at one of the tables.]

[[There you are~ Bakura's heading right over.]]

So! Ready for your break?

I can't take a break, we've got customers in here...

[And yet all the customers would be just fine if he weren't there, such is his sense of responsibility for this place.

His dad's watching the exchange with a bit of interest now. It's obvious he and Hajime are related; Hajime might just as well be a younger, shorter carbon copy.]

...By that logic you would never be able to take a break until closing time, that's not how that works...

[[a small glance over. Then a glance back. Mmm...

Suddenly, there's a crafty look in Bakura's eye and he turns to the register, swapping to formal, polite Japanese]]

Pardon the rudeness, Owner-san, but would you mind horribly if I borrowed Hajime for a bit? He's been working very hard and should take a break, don't you think?

[There's a bit of a smirk from the older man.]

His mother's been telling him to get out of here for a while for days.

[He'll wave them off, satisfied with Bakura's politeness.]

Go on, get out of here. He needs the fresh air.

[Hajime's too surprised at his father, the workaholic much of his own workaholic behavior is modeled upon, agreeing so readily to a break, to really have much of a response of his own. It's not like he's realized his family's picked up on something that's been bothering him these past few months and that he's worrying them.]

[[Bakura gives a small bow]] That he does! I'll take good care of him! [[assures with a grin]] Thank you very much for all your hard work and your good food! Until later...

[[and with a grin, he turns back to Hajime.]] Let's go~ [[Hope you've put that tray down, Hajime, since Bakura's going to grab you by the wrist and drag you out while you're flummoxed.]]

[Good news! He managed to get the tray down. He's also still wearing an apron, but details, details...]

So what's so important, anyway?

[He's still a little thrown off by the suddenness of this, really.]

I got back my deck...

[[It's said a bit softly as he pushes the door open and heads over to where his bike is chained up. There's a red book bag locked up on the chain as well, complete with a small luggage lock keeping it shut.]] And something else.

[Yes, that definitely gets his attention.]

The whole thing?

[His hand reflexively drops to the spot where his card box would be clipped on his belt if it were visible, and his gaze falls on the backpack there.]

Maybe we should go somewhere else for this...

Whole thing. [[he nods, unlocking his bike]] And something else that they go with.

Forest Park? The one by the dead district that's all overgrown.

Works for me.

[Hajime nods and approaches his own bike...which is actually a motorcycle and likely to outspeed Bakura's bike.]

...one of these days, you need to get something with an engine. You want a ride?

[[Bakura pauses, hand on his bag as he looks over, lips parting as if to speak before closing again, process repeating a few times as his fingers picked at the lining of the bookbag in his hands.

...would something like that be okay....?

There was another long moment of hesitation before his hands finally stilled.]]

...do you have a spare helmet....?

[He's noticed that hesitation, but he won't say anything about it directly.]

Yeah, I keep one in the back in case one of the staff needs a ride. Hold on...

[He'll rush off, giving Bakura more time to consider the offer if he needs it, and return with said spare.]

Don't worry, with these crazy bug reflexes, I'm probably the best motorcyclist that ever lived.

Not what I'm worried about. [[said with a small, faint smile]] I think... since it's open... it should be okay...

[[He's fidgeting with the scar on the back of his hand now, bag slung over his shoulder.]]

I would be delighted to poke at it.

You're good with tech stuff?

I'll have you know I am an engineering grad student. Mostly electrical which should come in handy here.

Really? I never would have guessed.

[[Totally not a dig at the otaku flashbacks, no no]]

Got a workbench set up?

Yep. Haven't gotten to mess with any echo stuff since I tried to take apart my gun. This ought to be interesting.

How much a change of breakage we talking here? I know it works and I kinda like it working and want it to stay that way since I kinda cant' get a new one....

Well it really depends on how it's built. If there are screws then it'll be easier. If it's friction and clips I'll have to be careful. If it's zipperclips like a 360, then I probably can't open it up without some damage.
